It has been 2 years since Khushi left Razaida mansion. The loss of her presence left him completely shattered. A new mask appeared on his face; a mask of numbness, no trace of anger evident. Each member of the Razaida family tried everything to bring him back, but he was lost. He permanently fell back in time, the memories of her still haunting. The echoes of her laughter still rang around his room. He tried very hard to block them out, but she didn't let him. Her presence was a tattoo burned right in to his skin.
"You were the reason my family fell apart! GET AWAY FROM ME KHUSHI. GET OUT OF MY LIFE FOREVER."
Tears escaped from his eyes. He wished he could go back in time and take back those words, but life didn't have do over's. Sometimes he longed to start searching for her, but the fear of facing her again shook him. Guilt would eat him raw if he confronted her. So he settled for living in pure torment for the rest of his life.
"
Chote'? We are going to the temple today' would you like to come?" Anjali asked Arnav cautiously. These past 2 years has been difficult for her, seeing her brother like this. After the departure of Khushi, she understood what an important role Khushi played in his life, but it was too late. Khushi has left all of them for good, stealing away the light that emerged when she arrived.
Arnav's dead eyes watched his sister. She was looking hopeful for him to join her, but Arnav wasn't in the mood. If there really was a god, his life wouldn't be this dark.
"No di, you go ahead."
Anjali smiled sadly, but didn't go any further to convince him. She knew it was no use anymore. All hope has been given up. She only prayed Khushi will come back to spreading the light to her brother. It was all like a dream, waiting to become reality.
"Alright chote, if you need anything call my cell."
Arnav nodded and proceeded to work on his lap top. Anjali left without another word and he watched her once again. There were times when his emotions did resurface, but he pushed it right back down. He couldn't handle the pain anymore. Numbing it all down was his only escape. Even the rate of his heart slowed down without her. He sighed and walked out to the pool side, but something made him stop midway. His heart rate... it was beginning to beat faster; as if her presence was right around the corner'
