Combined Analysis for 25/7 & 26/7
Aarti and Bua
When I read the live updates for the episode, I was just as mad as the next person that Aarti kept quiet, but after watching the episode, I realised that either Bua has upped her game, and is hitting Aarti where it has the greatest effect, ie her emotions, or we actually got a heartfelt scene for the first time from Bua's side. Personally, I think her self-pity rant started out as genuine and she only sunk back into her usual cold self when Aarti started her lecturing. What also came to mind is my mother's reaction to the whole thing where she said that it is never a good idea to put blame on your husband's relatives, no matter how heinous the crime; you deal with it as best you can, yourself, which is what Aarti chose to do. In this case, Yash could easily forgive her for changing Ansh's speech, because the negative result had already been nullified with the principal giving the kids another chance. Could he have forgiven her as easily if she accused Bua, given that we know how Bua can play with words and emotions so they come out in her favour? Also, no matter what, it would have stuck with Yash that Aarti accused Bua and that would have created distance while her "accepting her mistake" only brings them closer and solves the immediate problem in a much more efficient way. Also, Bua indirectly gave Aarti the solution to her problem; she wants respect, belonging and love, and Aarti has already started on her mission to bring that to her, when she tells the kids to touch her feet. Even though it seems convoluted, I think Aarti is laying the foundation for a long-term solution.
SP and Gayatri
I cannot believe how much I have come to love these two in these two episodes! From their little moment, talking about how proud they were of Yash, in their nook (how cute was the nook?) to SP's advice to the kids that it didn't matter who won or lost (this message has been pending since Ansh's first sport's day race before the PV, and how stunningly perfect was it that it was SP who gave it to them, someone who can give them wisdom even past their own parents) and Gayatri's affection. It shows that they really are loving people but they become harsh and unrelenting when the feel their status quo and the family's happiness threatened. Now that the threat has lifted and they see the net. effect of the PV being positive, they are more peaceful and less vigilant, allowing themselves the luxury of emotions.
Yash and Ansh
It has been a long time since we had Yash-Ansh moments and they were a sight for sore eyes. It was wonderful to see the way Yash worked with Ansh to get him to participate. The last time, he unknowingly used Ansh's competitive spirit to make the competition seem bigger than it was, and now he consciously uses the same competitive streak in Ansh to get him interested in the debate again. What he cannot accomplish with his own child, he does with Ansh, showing that perhaps it helps to look at things from an external vantage point, the same logic that worked for Aarti and Palak. Ansh's speech about Yash was entirely adorable and I loved GC's change in expression when Ansh talks about both parents being together. For the first time in days that expression of self satisfaction left his face and he looked unsettled, perhaps even more so than he did when precocious Ansh revealed that his mother looks at him secretively, because he is just too handsome to resist!
Palak and Aarti
Ah! Where do I even begin to talk about the beauteous way in which they brought about the transformation in Palak. I loved the way Arpita was included in the whole process, and how Aarti had her pulse on Palak's every feeling. It was almost as though she got a sign from Arpita, on seeing her picture on the wall, so different from when she sought her out before the birthday. Both Palak and Aarti, and even Yash by proxy came to a very important understanding in these episodes, that made both Palak finally ease her hold on Arpita, which will lead Yash to do the same eventually. What was that understanding? Palak finally got that even if she lost Arpita, and Yash forgot her, Aarti would be there to keep her memory alive and keep her a part of their lives. This was aptly conveyed through the saga of the photograph, where Yash forgot his wallet, and Palak lost her photo, but Aarti moved heaven and earth, hurting herself to find Palak's mother for her. This made Palak secure of Arpita's memory never fading, even if she herself let go, and so she did, acknowledging and embracing Aarti.
Today Aarti finally understood her place, beside Arpita. She didn't have to take Arpita's place to be Palak's mother; all she had to do was ensure that she would never take Arpita away from Palak and she managed to do just that. I loved the throwback to the classroom scene where Palak invites her friends to her birthday. There also she was doing it for Arpita, but under the false promise that she would come back. When she didn't Palak explained why she was angry, because she thought god didn't listen to her. But now God has shown her that he does listen and so she is not angry any more. That was the most significant line for me, because I think the lack of anger is what will change Palak and make her the student that Mrs. Lobo always dreamed of.
Also, love the mirror-mirror between Yash and Palak, where her "secret spot" is the same as the place where Yash once felt Arpita's presence and spoke to her as though she was physically present. I wonder why they both feel Arpita's presence there...
Aarti and Yash
So many sweet, subtle hints that they are becoming a single unit. I loved the door scene where they both try to go at the same time, and in the end Aarti concedes to Yash but somehow, he cannot go on without her. So they cannot both make their individual decisions and expect to move forward. They have to work as a team, with one giving way to the other to go first, and the other waiting for the first to catch up. Finally they are understanding that this is not a race, but a journey together.
I also loved the journey of the handkerchief, from Yash's hands to Aarti's. The handkerchief that Yash gives Aarti to wipe her tears, she uses to heal her would. I guess this is foreshadowing that he is going to be there to wipe her tears and his presence and support will tide her over and heal all her wounds.
I haven't read anybody else's analysis yet, but I shall do so tomorrow at my leisure.
Episode Analysis
It is interested how it has all happened in such a neat cause and effect, with each relationship building a bridge to a new one. I think the first real relationship to form in this PV was Ansh-Yash. Ansh wanted a father so badly that he accepted Yash with open arms, and after he became secure in the knowledge that his father could save him from any danger, protect him from any harm, he embraced Yash completely. The Yash-Ansh bond became the one thread that held Aarti and Yash's marriage together when the Scindias threatened to tear it apart, and it was based on this bond that the tentative Aarti-Yash relationship formed. Today that was reinforced when fittingly, Ansh became the one to tell his dad to stop crying.
Aarti then sought to win the hearts of Palak and Payal and began with redecorating their room. With Palak's outburst, she made the mistake of trying to become Arpita, but even though the mistake cost her a lot, she also gained the love and acceptance of Payal, who probably felt like part of a happy family for he first time in her life, the Arpita-Aarti issues going completely over her head. What she saw was a loving mother, who was cheerful, warm and kind and she gravitated towards that light and warmth naturally, from the cold darkness she had been used to with Palak and Yash.
From the Neelam story, Aarti and Yash's friendship strengthened and Aarti realised her love for Yash. Her increased comfort level with Yash allowed her to talk to him when she found Palak alone in the store room, which finally led us to this beautiful culmination of the Aarti-Palak relationship. It is by no means reached any kind of saturation point, but crossed its first major hurdle to begin in earnest. The only bond that remains yet untouched in this family is that of Palak and Ansh, and by the looks of the precap they are poised to deal with that next.
When Palak finally called Aarti "mummy" today, it made me think back to the birthday party where Aarti made the promise that she was only able to fulfill today. She told Palak that she would bring her mother back and when she did, Palak would call her "mummy" instead of "sauteli mummy." That dream of Aarti's came true today, as well as the dream of Palak's as she articulated in her speech. As I mentioned in my analysis above, Aarti brought Palak's mother back by finding her photo when neither Palak nor Yash did had their pictures with them. Without realising, Yash had dropped his wallet, forgotten Arpita, and Palak was panicked and scared because she couldn't find her mother. And so Aarti finally became the fairy that Palak needed, led her out of that dark storeroom and by giving Palak her mother when nobody else could, she fulfilled her promise from the birthday and finally gained Palak's trust...and just like she had predicted, Palak called her "mummy."
This makes me think that perhaps Yash is wiser than we give him credit for. I know he goes on about AKJ and it seems like he is totally wrapped up in his own grief, but I am wondering now, if he wasn't also considering Palak in this equation. He knew that Palak would never accept someone who tried to take Arpita's place, because of the attachment she had to her mother, and the memories of her. Perhaps he wanted someone who would respect that for Palak's sake as much as his own, which is why he was so moved by Palak's acceptance today. He knew all along that Aarti was the right one, only he remains sadly oblivious of all the pressure she faced to get this far.
Bua got her just desserts today when she saw that in spite of giving her the advantage, Aarti had still won the battle. Aarti didn't conquer Bua by exposing her, but by defeating her purpose of her actions. I loved how they showed that Aarti used the same tactics as Bua, but with love as her motive rather than malice. Much like Bua, she too "manipulated" Palak, but with the intention of her winning the competition and forgetting her fears and in the end, Aarti with her positivity and the results of her efforts before her, won the battle over Palak's mind and proudly stuck her flag in there!
It is interesting but Aarti has now also taken away Bua's greatest weapon, Arpita's memory. Bua has used this both on Yash and Palak, multiple times in order to turn them against Aarti. But Aarti today proved herself the official guardian of Arpita's memory, both to Palak with the photograph and the shelf, and to Yash through the overheard conversation. Palak's declaration that it was Aarti who made her win, was Bua's last, futile strike with that particular weapon that has now gone into Aarti's hands to be treasured and wielded with love and gentleness. In some grand sense, I feel like Arpita's soul will rest knowing that her memory is not being tampered with to hurt her loved ones.
That scene between Ansh and Yash was too cute! I just love how Yash treats Ansh like a buddy more than a kid: from what we have seen of Aarti's child-rearing, that is what works best for Ansh and it is heartening to see Yash picking up the reigns with the right attitude and the willingness to learn. However, in his camaraderie, it is possible that Yash blurted one little fact too many about his wife and Ansh's mother. On one level I can understand. Aarti is such a big part of his life now that Yash must feel like talking about her with someone, but who does he talk to who won't read too much into it? And so the little factoid just slipped out, reminding me of all the times Aarti has called out to him one too many times, unable to get her thoughts out, all the barely audible mutterings that made him restless and the mock scoldings he has gotten from her. He has the mirth and fun of all these incidents bottled up inside him and through Ansh, the playfulness of this relationship may just take its first real step. Looking forward to that!
When they showed the coming up, I was sure Yash was staring at Aarti like that while she was talking to Arpita, but it turns out even the precaps can be pleasantly misleading! I loved that though Arpita still remained in between them, and very much a presence, the two were entirely focused on each other, Yash with an unfaltering gaze of admiration. It is actually interesting that for the first time, Yash is talking about Arpita happily, thanking Aarti on her behalf. His voice is not laced with pain or regret at the mention of her name, as usual. Upon seeing Palak accept Aarti, somewhere his greatest fear too is laid to rest, perhaps paving the way for him to accept Aarti himself?
Prateek and Paridhi: Interesting developments... Prateek has landed himself in a very compromising position thanks to his inaction all these days and his overwhelming guilt. Pari is blackmailing him left, right and centre. My prediction is that AarYa will go with them to Mumbai on Palak's request and Aarti and/or Yash will find out about Paridhi's audition...and that will be the story for a few weeks. PS: How convenient is it that they visit Mumbai, where the show happens to be shot? Smart PH!
finally Pratik is being a good husband đ
