Romance rumours cost Rani a friend
The actress has stopped visiting the Chopras ever since rumours about her and Adi started

Ever since rumours about a romantic relationship between Rani Mukherji and Aditya Chopra has been doing the rounds, both Rani and Aditya have become rather stiff with each other. In fact, Rani who often dropped in on the Chopras earlier, has now stopped going to their place completely.
What's more, Rani hasn't been going all out to do the publicity of Karan Johar's Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna either, since she's scared that once she meets the media, she'll only be questioned about Aditya Chopra.
"Aditya is an extremely media-shy guy. Not only does he stay away from the press, he even hates his name being mentioned in the press. In fact actors and technicians working for Yashraj Films love and respect him so much that they have collectively decided to avoid mention of Aditya Chopra in any of their public declarations. This unsavoury media-exposure of his life has been one helluva blow for Aditya's code of privacy," says a close friend.
The Rani factor makes things very uncomfortable. "Rani is the only member of his extended professional family Adi is very easy-going and comfortable with. He barely exchanges a few words with all others. But he's very comfortable with Rani. Now their comfort level has gone down considerably. In fact Rani has almost stopped visiting the Chopras ever since these rumours started."
"More than rumours which come and go, Rani is afraid she'll lose a very dear friend," adds the friend.
Thus, as the release date of Karan Johar's magnum nears, and the rest of the cast come out in full force to talk about the film, Rani chooses to stay discreetly out of the media loop.
"She knows she'll be questioned about her relationship with Aditya Chopra and she can't bear to be put on a dock for something she isn't remotely involved with," says a very close of the actress who's currently shooting for Ravi Chopra's Baabul.
In fact Rani's family and friends are deeply concerned about the role of the 'Other Woman' being assigned to her. "She's being put in this wrong and uncomfortable role for no fault of hers except, that she's very friendly with the Chopras, Aditya included. In fact Rani gets along like a house on fire with everyone. The Chopras, Johars and Bachchans all dote on her. Obviously there would be resentment about her enviable position. You know what I mean?" a close friend suggests that there's more to this nasty rumour than meets the eye.
