Don't know which Aryan-Dravidian theory you are talking about (guessing you are talking about race and not linguistics, but I could be wrong). Having said that, I must lodge my very strongly dissenting view. There are will continue to be multiple opinions on this.

I would guess this is not the forum for this discussion, which has every potential of getting out-of-hand.

It was not me who was pointing out the things. there was no need to mention that outdated theory
while discussing about Shiva and Vishnu.

It is utterly falsified and oversimplified to call Vishnu a Aryan God. and Shiva as non Aryan God
i was refuting that statement.

There can be hundreds of opinions on a single matter, but only which has scientific evidence will count. there is no evidence for Aryan Migration either archeological or genetic. Only evidence is linguistic which might have other explanation as language propagation is may or may not involve large scale migration.

Nothing is going out of Hand, i was only refuting statement which was irresponsible and misinformed.

I agree that this forum is not a place to discuss that, but i had to respond to that statement for the known reasons

regards
krishna

I was only lodging my dissenting opinion. You can post your opinion, I have no quarrel with that. But there is more than one opinion (based on scientific evidence) on this, and I was merely pointing that out.
All best,

Most of us must have faced this situation. Our older generationfollows apath very strongly, the next generationdoesn't accept some of it, continues withtheir set of liberal rules & the the curent generation, has been exposed to various paths, seen their +ve & -ve pts have developed their own thinking based on their observation & experiences.
<div></div>This process is slow in villages & small towns, but in big cities the difference is obvious. So the current generation may be having their own strong reasons. Even in a family different member prays to different Gods. So the time is changing slowly.

Ya it depends on who one wants to pray too, even in my family mom prays to vishnu n i pray to shiva she will tell me to keep vishnus songs on thursday n i keep playing them even though i dont pray much to vishnu , have been curious about him n there are pictures of him in our house, and other gods pictures too but i always go n pray to shivas family. Mostly muruga n shiva , i love praying to these two gods 😊

Some of the things they're showing in the serial - like Himavan being Vaishnav - is absolutely not true. Sati wanted to be reborn to a father who wasn't a Shiva virodhi but a Shiva bhakt, and that happened to be Himavan. The serial shows Vishnu as inspiring him to give his daughter to Parvati, but in fact, it was Narada who told Himavan what Parvati was destined to be, and so Himavan encouraged her to pursue that.

Similarly, as Vibs mentioned in pg 2 or 3, the serial showed all detractors of Shiva - from Daksha on down - as ardent Vaishnavs. Which is bunk. Also, Tarakasura was a devotee of Shiva, but the serial shows him always trying to get Sati or Parvati killed. This too is bakwas. I know that all serials take liberties w/ the story, as has this, but some of the liberties they've taken are just unconscionable.

Yeah these days mytho shows different stuff n thats why mostly i only watch a few epis , shows before were quite nice as in they showed the truer aspects of mytho without the grandeur like they wanted to show what truly happened how they showed om namah shivaya in the 90's

I wanna throw light if there is shaivism and vaishnavism there is also shaktism who belive in aadishakti. There are also gaudiya vaishnav believe in krishna and radha. We can't stop anyone's shraddha and bhakti. The main point of view behind these division is to respect their ISHTDEVA. They are not against each other but some people does it for their own benefit.

In ancient & medieval centuries there was a lot of difference , clashes between vaishnavites and shaivites/shaktas . Even now some communities have this differences regarding marriages, etc. many just dont want to marry a shaivite or a vaishanvite if he /she is not from the same community.

Just one more thing, Vishnu is an aryan God, and Shiva is a basicallly non-aryan god who was incorporated into vedic hindu religion by the religious leaders.

i disagree wid u shivapuja was more ancient than vishnupuja. In mohanjoddaro civilisation shiva was supreme diety and many shivlingas are found in archaeological surveys. And in vedic civilasation also

This issue was a sensitive topic and was kept open for clean sensible discussion
now i guess its becoming touchy and many lead to further arguments spreading negativity
hence Topic is closed
