Preity Zinta Onboard for Sunny Deol's 'Bhaiyyaji'

July 24, 2012, (Sawfnews.com) - Preity Zinta is back on board for Neeraj Pathak's 'Bhaiyyaji Superhit' headlining Sunny Deol.

It was earlier reported that Preity had been dropped from the project because negotiations with her were taking too long.

Producer Fauzia Arshi had reportedly said, "We are not taking Preity Zinta in the film."

However, he had denied rumors that she had been dropped because she was demanding an exorbitant paycheck.

Pathak has now confirmed Preity's inclusion in Bhaiyyaji Superhitt. She plays a local gangster's daughter and a loud and aggressive wife.

"Preity plays a Varanasi ki ladki with a local accent. She is super-excited about the role," Pathak told TOI.

Preity will have to apparently learn to talk fast in the local accent.

Sunny Deol features in a double role in the action comedy and one of the roles will be of a UP don. His Gadar (2001) co-star Ameesha Patel will be paired with him in one of the roles.

That's quite rude! It amuses me how people don't have a problem accepting the likes of Katrina, Deepika, or Sonam who lack the acting chops but refuse to give Ameesha the credit for delivering some superb performances. She is not the best actress, but certainly not the worst!

Ameesha has shown immense talent in films such as Gadar, Humraaz, Ankahee, etc. Too bad she made some bad choices that affected her career severely. As an outsider, she was never embraced in Bollywood. Most actresses are surviving only because of their filmi connections. Who looked at Katrina twice post Boom? She was without work for four years till Namastey London came. She has improved a lot in the acting department, but it took her years and some people still think she can't act. I am not targetting Katrina only, but she's an example. Heroines today have it much easier!

Ameesha performed so well in only her second film, and she was touted as the next Madhuri Dixit (no joke). Now when I mention this today people will laugh because of how badly her career shaped up, but back then she was considered the next big thing. My point is, the reason Ameesha has fans is because of those films. I'm sure a lot of people around this forum were big fans during her KNPH days, let's just say a few of us have remained. And I'm pretty sure some who are no longer fans would be happy to see Ameesha finally succeed!

I'm not comparing Ameesha to Madhuri, but at the time of KNPH and Gadar people thought that her career will go places!

I hope Ameesha's future films work wonders for her... I don't think she can be a numero uno like Katrina is, but I want her to be appreciated as an actress. I feel she never got her due despite doing powerful roles so early in her career.

Anyway, I'm happy Preity has signed another film! I hope she pulls it together this time.
