I was so excited to see Cocktail from the beginning. And i used to wonder whom Gautam is going to end up with? and how? (i always thought of meera) but when i finally get to watch it, it was disappointing..The screen play in my view was not strong, the dialogues were not upto the mark, and don't know why i found Saif really irritating...There was not one scene where i felt connected except the reaction of Veronica when she found out about Meera-Gautam.
I really didn't get how all in sudden Gautam is so in love with Meera, and the whole scene of telling Meera that any guy would want her was not even well written in my view. I actually didnt find any true love between any of them.
For Veronica as well her love for Gautam was not justified. She only realized that she wants to marry Gautam when she saw how sweet and generous his mom is, so it was mostly like she wanted to marry to get that parent love which she never got as a child.
The emotional scenes lack the most important thing 'EMOTION'.
I really liked the bonding and friendship of Veronica and Meera at starting, it was very pure. The characters of Meera and Veronice were so different from each other, one is very simple and shy and another is very independent and party freak and then comes the worst point Veronica wished to be like Meera...Why?? I really hate the scenes after Veronica recover from accident, she totally changed herself into new Meera for Gautam. And the whole thing where Gautam introduced Meera to her mom but not Veronice, it all suggested that a girl always should be shy and wear full clothes or else she will tagged as a s***...I loved that free and confident Veronica and i also loved that shy and sweet Meera but what i not love is Veronica trying to be Meera so that Gautam's mom can accept her.
Come on Gautam and Veronica were same but still Gautam found true love but Veronica was used and in the end got two great friends...
Its just my view...
