Cute episode, a stress buster after a week of accusations, counter accusations. A signature move from this PH which often switched to comedy at the most unexpected moments. This was Gul's googly. Some saw it coming...Congratulations Gul's Gang! Happy Singh too had his 15 mins...😆

I can safely say from today's episode, those expecting a protracted RTR, look elsewhere. It isn't going to be on this show. After such serious accusations, Khushi seems to have accepted him for who is, her Laad Governor. Like she accepted his attempts to wish her at a "Ha, Ha..." 😆 You get what you get, work with what you have. Excellent philosophy to find happiness, a habit she may have inculcated from her younger days being underprivileged and under-appreciated. She has made peace with her LG being LG and so should we😆

Yes, he will make it up to her in the truest sense by doing all the cute stuff most husbands will do when in love and still in the "did not get it *ahem*" mode...😉 Learning choti, choti batein about her along the way...😳 But that is all I expect, any serious repentance for months like some expect here will be Gul's googly. I wouldn't put my money on it.

Onto the episode - ASR turns out to be Khushi's dream pati, pyaar mein no sorry , no thank you. Oops! The no happy birthday types...Laad Governor Kahi ka...😆 Loved the Gupta's; ASR completely off his ASR mode in this atmosphere. He is Arnav/Barun, the homely boy. Buaji has managed to bring out the boy in him...An obedient boy being scolded... the sheepish look when scolded... the running around her apologizing...trying to please her and win her over like any little boy would. I was left wondering if it was buaji's b'day...😆 Awesome chemistry with these 3, BS, SI and AP.

A poignant moment with the sada suhaagan raho...Beautiful scene as he watches Khushi being Khushi with buaji doing the nazar...It was a glimpse into Khushi's life.

Simple joys of life...A girl who simply wants to be loved...Her innocence, her childishness and her quirkiness that won him over...😳 An unconventional child-woman who captured his heart...😳 How could he ever have doubted someone so pure at heart? These are little things he will take with him on the road to redemption...

They have restored the old Khushi, the spunk is back...Out goes the bechari SP bahu act...She gets him on the handbag...She isn't the types, you buy her an expensive handbag and she will invite you up for a cup of coffee and *ahem*... She promptly calls Amanji and thanks him...🤣

She refused to go back with him...The hurt still evident but she knows she has to and he almost pleaded with his eyes when he stepped out.

I would have skipped the subzi stuff, which diluted her anger a bit. But a domesticated ASR welcoming Khushi at the door, PRICELESS!

Loved this one, eager to see her back...Door opens at the first ring...😳

I did talk about respect 2 days ago and today was a step in the right direction. Despite all the tension nani and ASR welcomed the Birthday girl with respect! Nani has been fair, a true head of the family...👏

I had high hopes for the rose scene, expecting ASR to interrupt and say, Khushi ka surprise aagaya or something. But at least he recovered and said it was his gift, not her inka's! Balancing act, a rocky road to win her over...Kabhi Khushi, Kabhi Di...😆 ASR planning a surprise, woh bhi dil se...😲😲😲 Can Mon come sooner?

Saved the best for last - the promised ROMANCE ...🤣

Or was it BROMANCE? Gul's Googly - NK-Nannav...🤣

Note to self, never ever read spoilers and raise expectations 😡. That being said and set aside, it was nice breezy enjoyable episode with beautiful moments sprinkled all around in a shortened version of ME. Things that really worked for me:

Buaji- Arnav combination.👏 Every time he is at GH, the compare and contrast between Chote at RM and Arnav at GH becomes more pronounced. While Garmia treats her son-in-law with almost respectful reverence, Buaji treats him the same way she does Khushi - like a son. She defends Khushi and admonishes him for forgetting her birthday and he bends over backwards to set things right with Buaji.

Arnav enjoying the return of the quintessential Khushi with her smile and laughter just like we did. Loved that scene.

Khushi checkmating Arnav when he questions her as to why she thanked Aman for the gift. After hearing the reasoning, the man admits that he has met his match and shuts up.

His plea cloaked in the form of a question "You will come back home in the evening?"

Back at RM, ASR puts a kibosh on NK's suggestions calling them "cheesy" ⭐️

His disbelief that she has put vegetables in a designer handbag. Her monologues while admonishing him for getting such an expensive bag and at the same time cursing herself for having treated the gift so carelessly.

Richard Marx's "Right here waiting for you.." playing in the BG during the GH scenes- very apt.

"Happy Birthday" - something he attempts to say all through out but never can say it. In the past when she has worded his thoughts, he would have raised an eyebrow and moved on - case and point when she reads his thoughts after he loses his voice. Today she knew from the first attempt that he was wishing her but he denies it, he wants to say it himself and will say it by the end of the night.😆

Sanaya and Abha were brilliant. Barun did very well with comedy,

My sis called me up from India this morning and told me that the show is back on track...so I should start watching it again...This was before the ME. Shyamu is out...Arhi story is getting some grip...I plan on catching up on last few episodes...:-)

Hope your trip to India went well Sari. 😊

BTW did watch the thappad episode in India last Friday,after a break of almost 3 weeks...was going to post that the TRP should be up as the long awaited moment of Shyamus entire truth to be out was finally there ..and there it was...Finally something interesting...without further drag 😃

EDIT: Watched Thursday, Friday episodes and the ME. Friday episode was really good. ME was just a long episode of the ordinary kind...not a milestone. Poor ARnie had it coming from all the ends...Tough to please so many women... 😆 😆 😆

Loved NK in the ME...Payal is finally the sis I wanted her to be...Thank CVs for some shades of ASR on Friday...dont want Arnie to be all mushy

Anjali is grieving the loss of her husband...how come no one understands that...They are brushing it under the carpet and don't want to talk about him...This is a recipe for disaster...till then we should enjoy this...thanks again to the cvs for not making it a mush fest...with dialogues such as mera Dil dadkata hei and so on...delivered by ARnie... 😃

Heya!!

So the ME came and went. Interesting, this was probably one of the least anticipated ME's, the build up really only grew on Wednesday. There was a time where we were happier weeks in advance. I blame it on di and her denial.

Sooo, I really liked the episode. It had it all, humor, fun, flirtatiousness, drama and sadness.

I was very happy to see the old goofy Khushi back and a stumbled ASR. This is a man who negotiates multi-million dollar deals... and he can't say Happy Birthday to his wife, perfection to the T with his character 😊

Loved the Bua-Arnav bond. The fact that he went out of his way to make it upto Bua as well and her "dil jeetliya babua" is a clear indication that although she'll be hurt and angry that he forced Khushi to get married to him, she knows how pure his heart is and just how much he loves Khushi and will do anything for her. Her anger towards him will last for a very little time, much like today, Arnav will make it upto her at that time.

There were comments about BS and ASR getting mixed, to be really honest, this is how a confused ASR has always been. I think we're looking into it more now because we know he's filming for 2 roles, but really, he's always been like this (Yes yes, I did it again, I defended him 😛).

Loved the NK-Nanav conversation. Especially the "naraaz" part and how flawlessly and innocently he said the wrong word, missed him!

Payal the sister and not the wife, again a stage being set for her to fight for her sister when more fingers point at her. Well done CVs 👏

Naani has redeemed herself.

And I was cheering with my cousin and her friend that Anjali didn't show up, frankly I preferred Akash-Payal to her. And baam, the CVs always surprise me, she's there to receive the flowers. I was not a happy camper.

I was even more pissed because she goes "inhone mere liye phool bheje hai".

W*F did she say that?? Just yesterday she was convinced her baby will be hated because of what her husband is and today she's pinning for him again. I give up. She needs help, pronto.

The delusion has set in more and the stage for her telling (mind you, not asking) Khushi to leave her brother and her house for her happiness is coming very soon.

This birthday will be the first major trigger followed by the closeness and attention Khushi will get from Arnav. Teej will be Anjali's breaking point, seeing Khushi as a happy married bride enjoying her marital bliss with her younger brother will really put Anjali off and she'll bring out the claws.

Except ASR's roar is louder, he won't back down, he will roar at all of RM.

Absolutely loved how Bua and Garima were examining the bag while Khushi interrogated Arnav on the "101 of gifting presents", loved that scene.

This episode was a much needed break from all the doom and gloom. IPKKND is known to set comedy into the darkest hours. I don't remember the last time we got so much off it since Khushi's suicide attempt, its been 2 months, I welcome this surprise.

I do think this ME was a red-herring, a lot more is planned and will play out over the week and surprise us because now the spoilers have been spoilt. Very smart tactic used by the creatives if it indeed has been done.

I don't know or care about the rain sequence, but I won't put it past them to not have one, it could very well play out.

Alright, I've learned my lesson never watch the show live and do not have high expectations otherwise you will be left pulling your hair out in frustration by the end since nothing makes sense. Lesson learnt, it is best to hold out a while longer and watch the episodes later where you have a FF'd button handy!!

Ok now that I've completed my lesson learnt onto the episode which on second watch I absolutely loved to bits!! Granted I could do without the saas bahu nonsense that grates my nerves but like I said second time around that fast forward button became my BFF 😆

Episode started where we left off with Arnav being scolded by Bua for not remembering Khushi's birthday. Bua and Arnav are just too cute to watch, I've never seen him be scared of anyone yet when it came to Bua he quietly gave in like a child and wanted to pacify her when he realized he hurt her feelings. How sweet!!

The bubbly Khushi is back and I couldn't be happier, she's been sorely missed these past few months. I loved the nazar scene where Arnav looked on with a smile, it was easy to see this was one of the reasons he fell in love with Khushi.

Poor Arnav, who knew saying Happy Birthday would be so hard yet so comical?? It was completely in character for him though, this is someone who struggled to say I'm sorry in the past so this is not surprising. I loved his efforts to try.

Arnav and NK were a treat to watch, NK teasing and wanting to help despite Arnav's DIY attitude. Options from trips to Salman Khan were talked about but finally Arnav remembered Khushi in lights and a lightbulb went off in his head. Really looking forward to what Arnav has planned for Khushi, but he has to know that all she really wants is him to wish her. For Khushi nothing else matters but his wish.

Nani you rock, I was starting to doubt her when it came to Khushi but now I see she remains neutral. How sweet was it that she took time out to wish Khushi. This scene was much needed since Khushi appeared to dread going home, it was good that she was welcomed with warmth and love.

Sush - Welcome🤗 Good to see you after a long time. Last week was good; ME was ok. Thappad happened last Fri. India Trip was fabulous, got back on Monday just in time for some great episodes😉 No Shyamu so you will like it 😆 but Anji is slowly getting on my nerves but still tolerable...😆 TRP was 3.4...

So, if you're uncomfortable with the jurmanas, don't pay. I threaten and act all tough but pssst... I'm a softie at heart (it's our secret!😉).

So aaj ka verdict: MAHA DISAPPOINTMENT!

Yes, it's all because of elevated expecations perhaps unrealistic ones. But we don't exist in a vaccuum... our expectations are shaped by the show. I don't mean the spoiler devis' offerings that I now discount or the SBS type clips that I don't watch. My expectations for the ME were set up by the week that we had that peaked on Wed and the RED HOT promo especially that released the same day. The promo --- it was false advertising. Maggie's siggie says it all. 👏

This ME just felt FLAT to me. It started off promisingly and then went nowhere. The cheery GH occupants and Buaji schooling Arnav were fun, but 30 minutes into the epi as were chatting, the sense was "Where's the beef?". We never got it.

In many ways the 45 minute ME has a different rhythm than a 22 minute epi. It has a bigger responsibility to follow an arc (a sort of 3 act structure if you will!) and it has to finish well. Again, in the live chat we were all a bit puzzled and shell shocked with the finish --- "Really? That's it? Is it over? Are we missing something?" If you end well, it covers up a lot of issues through the epi.

Its not as if we haven't got some great maha epis... the PayAsh shaadi one where Khushi Kisses Arnav, the angsty one before Arnav gets kidnapped - tonally both were poles apart but they really picked up the tempo of the series and boosted our rooting interest. This one, it just felt... FLAT (yep that word again)! 😕

Ah well, we move on to another week and hopefully a story that keeps the pace up. These MEs have always confounded me... if they can just tell a tight story during the week, we don't need an extra 45 minutes of weekend time. But as with everything to do with TV, TRP Maiyya rules with an iron hand. If she's happy, it's all worth it. ⭐️

First watch, like everyone else, I was like What the hell is this rubbish??😡

It was pure dead brilliant. Even after getting myself to have no expectations. I still did. Screw those spoilers. No more spoilers in the hangout puhleej.👎🏼
