I love to watch Hindi movies but after watching a few movies, I must say it's embarrassing to watch them with your family. Movies like Jism, Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Murder and others should be rated or so. Are these movies degrading our culture? In the movies mostly the guys pants are very tight and the girl dress with less clothes. In almost all the movies u find girls wearing bikini's, short skirt and shirt without back, on top of all that when the movie is release and they have an award the first thing that's comes out is "Indian culture" How will the parents feel to sit and watch movies with their kids walking and acting like that?

I am not trying to criticize them, they do act very well but r they degrading Indian Culture?

It's true, these days, unless the movie doesn't have couple of item numbers or includes vulger language or scenes, it doesn't attract many people. On top of that like Abhijeet said , Indian movies are copies of Hollywood movies even makes things worse.
Where are the OG's ideas or a thing called creativity. If you don't have story ideas, you don't have to make a cheap thriller. There are exceptions where Indian directors do come up with OG ideas like Iqbal, Laal salaam, Being cyrus etc..but they are less than 1%.

Yes, I fully agree with your thoughts regarding this issue, angeleyes. I also think films like these are degrading 'Indian' culture and misleading people who have a traditional background. By showing sexual content in a movie, they think they are revealing how much 'advanced' they are, and\or want to keep up with hollywood. But they're not realizing that they are losing their OWN culture, their OWN customs, and going against their OWN religious\cultural teachings. They want to\have fully adopted a 'hollywood' style in their movies.... and do not realize that it's not 'cool' to present movies in a way similar to hollywood, it's MUCH MORE 'cool' to be unique (which is possible if they exhibit their OWN culture).

well not just movies i must say also dramas nowadays are trying to make imp issues very minor (pointers in the direction of ekta serials ofcourse)

basically the main thingim talking abt is sleeping with ur lover b4 marriage...marriage is a VERY sacred and holy ritual in our asian culture..its seen as a life time commitment..where a wife and a husband truly becum each other's..and sleeping with sum guy before marriage shown a MILLION ZILLION times in ekta serials is not as forgivable or "its-ok!!" type as ekta shows..her shows make it luk as is its sum mistake its ok every1 angry at beginning but later on every1's happy again no regret no nuthing...thats not how our desi culture is..and its not at all ok to do such a thing..but the way she shows these sitatuations it makes them luk like ok it happens not a sin..:S

also the way marriages are seen as a kid's game in dramas nowadays...kabhi duhsmani ke liye shaadi to kabhi dosti ke liye kabhi sacrifice ke tor pe kabhi samjhota..a girl (kripa/kashish..many others) marrying three or more times as if its its not marriage but just turning pages of a book..in real life in OUR culture marrying twice or thrice or more times is not as much appropriate or acceptable (un rare circumstances it may be) but marriage is seen as a life time commitment...it may not end up to be such sumtimes but however still its not appropriate at all for ekta to show marriage as a game ke ek larki shaadi kar rahi hai har baar naye bande se for a heck of diff reasons..there are other things that can be dun for finding out sum1's killer than marrying sum guy (hint: KASHISH-ALUWALIA) ....

so basically this is not our culture these things are not seen as common and everyday situations..but indramas they sound as well they're sumthing u wud experience every other day: sleeping before marriage..one shaadi..talaak..doosri shaadi for dushmani..falling inluv..leaving the house..teesri shaadi for samjhota..leaving the guy cuz ur sis likes him..chauthi for finding out ur sis killer..and all thsoe diff reasons8-)

nyways thats wht i think dunno wht u guys wud think of my reasons 😳

I dont think that the indian serials or movies degrade the culture. I feel that they discuss some aspects of the culture that we are usually uncomfortable discussing with families, and they tend to exxagerate and embellish slightly(largely) but they dont degrade the culture. Movies like Chandni Bar or Chingaari show a life that is hard to discuss with your family but that doesnt make it any less real. Ekta shows create a fantasy world which almost all people know isnt real, and what Ekta provides us with is mindless entertainment. I have learned that we shudnt accept what we see in movies or shows as the real lifestyle or culture of peeople, and if you take into account embellishments than you realize its chaska meant to gain viewers and not an attempt to portray indian culture
