As we finished breakfast dev was busy making calls..

Just den sm1 came over..

"hello dev sir.."

"adi.. hw cm u r here?"

"wo.. dddev sir, needed ur sign on sm papers.. uuurrgently! Wooo.. maan sirrr is not here na!"

I heard dev cursing himself..

"hmm.."

He signed d papers widout even reading dem.. guess dey trusted dis adi guy a lot..

As if reading my thots.. dev answered.. 'geet.. dis is adi, bro's frnd n trusted employee n adi dis is geet.."

"ohhh hiii gggeet.. nice to meet uuu! Nywaz sir I shud take ur leave"

"adi.. wait.. by d way what papers r dese?"

"wooo.. ummm.. "

"adi.. I hv already signed d papers.."

"umm.. wo.. nthng special"

"adi bhai.. if u don't wanna tell me fyn.. I trust u.. bt atleast u need not lie"

"woo.. actually dese r papers of d Bangalore project.. wo maan sir he forgot to tk dem.. I guess he dint know.. wo"

"obviously.. he wont know.. I was handling d project.."

He walked up to adi n snatched the papers.. tell bro.. no infact don't tell him.. I m leaving for Bangalore ryt nw n wil send bro back immediately!!"

"devvv siirrr.. r u planning 2 hv me murdered..? u know na.. maan wil kill me.. he warned me thttt I shudnt let u know dattt dese papers werrr d Bangalore project onesss.. he'll.."

"chill adi bhai.. u know na tht bro cant say no 2 me.. I ll convince him it wasn't ur fault ..

I had 2 been a silent witness 2 all d happening till now..

I felt a new found respect for dev as I watched him leave..

all dese days tht we had been together smhw he seemed very different frm wht I thot DD wud b..not that i dint enjoy.. bt still

Though he still had retained a few of his favorites ovr d yrs.. bt I had felt a change in him.. his choices, his favorites.. evrythng seemed different.. most of all his approach..!!

All thru dese 3 days.. I was surprised 2 c him so carefree widout a worry in d world.. a pampered prince.. so unlike d mature n wordly wise DD!! I was getting more n more confused wid his partying life style.. he seemed 2 know almost evrybdy on page 3 as if dey wer his buddies.. bt I distinctly remembered DD mentioning tht he detested parties.. bt probably 'twas a corporate lifestyle tht led to dis!!

After d first day itself.. I wanted 2 stay back n spend sm tym at home.. bt dev forced me to get ready for another outing.. I hadn't even met meer or maa, dad or daadi.. but I really dint have d heart to say no to him.. after all he was my DD!! Thr was no way I cud deny him..

Wht confused me further tht he nvr understood ny reference to ny of our previous talks!! He remembered nothing, just gave a confused look n laughed it off..!!

Evrytym I suggested work.. he wud just say tht he wud handle it!! n get back to partying!!

I cudnt understand his indifference!! he had always seemed so focused n ambitious n determined..

Hey babaji.. wht I doin? Dont think of maan.. I chided myself..

Probably dev wants to spend tym wid me just like I wanted 2 spend time wid him!!

But smwhr I was messed up and glad tht we wer gonna spend tym wid family dis weekend..!! I cudnt say yes to his outing plans n der was no way I cud ever say no 2 DD..!!

Bt today for d first time I saw a different side of him..

One tht I knew of bt not seen till now..

That sense of maturity n responsibility in him which I admired so much.. thts wht DD stood for all dese yrs..

N d no of times DD had mentioned abt hw much he loved n cared for his brother.. n today it was on display for all 2 c.. d bond between maan n dev was beyond comprehension!! They'd go to ny extent for each other..

Just like me n meer!!

Which brought d guilt for not being der for her.. bt neither cud I 4gt maan!!

He gave maa n dad d utmost respect, helped dad in business, n helped meer wid all her admission process.. n today viewing dev's behavior, I understood maan held a very special place in dev n daadi's lives!! For dev almost seemed to worship him!! n I knew fm dad hw maan had supported daadi at a young age handling evrythng.. bth business n family!!

Don't know why though I had still not spoken a word to him, I still felt I knew him!! he was a stranger n yet so familiar!! He was an enigma n yet..

"lunch is ready.. n maan sir is back too.. evry1's waiting 4 u at d table!!"
