Did anushka deserve the slap??

I do not think a man should hit a woman, yet a man slapping a woman is quite common in Indian serials!

Actually Mona slapped Pradeep as well! So you cant generalize. It can happen both ways.

First any kind of violence is not right.

Mona slapped Pradeep because of his infidelity. He wronged her.
Why did Pradeep slap Anushka? Yes he knows the truth, but Anushka doesn't. Pradeep proves again that he doesn't know neither understand Mona. He let his frustration of being wrong about Mona out on Anuhka. I think she definitely deserved some kind of a bhasan from Pradeep, but he should not have slapped her.

The sad part is that Pradeep is the one who is unreasonable towards Anu by slapping her, but Mona will have to face her anger.

I hate the "slapping" flu that has infected our serials ...

but besides that - what right does pradeep have to hit Anu ... Wasn't he spewing the same sort of crap just few hours before ... he was being much for vicious and degrading than anu ...

For men like him, its always the woman's fault ... it was mona's fault that she did not suit/understand/fulfill his ambitions ... and now it is anu's fault that she is not understanding his sweet, tender emotions ... Ass.

ummm ... western shows may be more explicit in violence or sexual assaults scenes ... but the thing is that those scenes are in context of that violence


They don't show husbands casually slapping around wives in the normal course of day ... if they show a husband/lover/boyfriend slap the girl then the storyline IS about domestic violence ... they never show this - how dare you talk to my mother like this *thapack* ... how dare you go here *thapack* ... how dare you do this against our maan and maryaada *thapack*

At least i have never seen this ... and i watch a lot of western shows ... could you name any where you have seen this casual justified violence ???
