there is no need to be rude, I do watch western shows, and men do not slap women in public conveniently, abuse is only shown when the man is suppose to be portrayed in a bad light, but not every man conveniently slaps a woman in public just because she is speaking rubbish

I don't know of any western show that shows abuse unless it is in the context of domestic violence.

Besides the point, the person who said she deserves the slap...why?? Under no circumstance should a man hit a woman or vice versa. However because men are socialized to become more built, their punch would hurt a lot more. I don't want to get in to the gender politics of it all, I feel like I'll be writing a phD dissertation.

Pradeep is a hegemonic male, he believes he has the right to hit a woman, and she is just supposed to take it. He will never address his own mistakes, but will address others mistakes. He is the biggest a** I have ever seen on television.

This guy is the biggest fool, because in my eyes, whoever hits someone weaker then them is nothing but a coward. Pradeep proves once again how he only sees women as objects, that everything revolves around him, and he is so oriented to the self that he can never see his own faults!

This character is so yuck!! What's more is some people will eat this stuff up and be like YEAHHH ANU DESERVED IT! Let me just remind them it takes two to cheat, and an idiot like Pradeep, who is a sinner himself does not have the right to carry out punishment. Not to quote biblical quotes, but he who has not sinned cast the first stone.

Also I don't think justice is served if Mona slaps Anu either, because once again, the woman is to blame. Pradeep was the one with the commitment.

However, I do want to add I haven't watched all western shows and I don't want to push everything under a colonial rug.

Indian serials may not be as quick to label a slap as a abuse as maybe a western show- but at the end of the day, in my view, they are both showing abuse. I think you mean, in more indian serials we see slapping a woman, especially if she is a more negative character as being 'mahaan kam.'

I am just saying hardly anyone reacts when a man slaps a woman in public, it is like yeh whatever it is fine, however I do not think so, yeh Anushka is bad, however still there was no need to slap her, Pradeep is a bigger Kamina!
