Flashback 8: In the ambulance

Akash helped Khushi get in the ambulance and closed the doors. Khushi kneeled on the floor next to the stretcher where Arnav was lying, her hands around his and she burst into tears. "Arnavji, I don't know what went wrong.. I mean, Nanheji and I.. I .." She couldn't believe it; her world came crashing down on her. Will she lose him? How will she live without him? "Khushi?" she heard Arnav's voice. She opened her eyes wide with disbelief and looked up and saw Arnav sitting on the stretcher, looking at her, his eyes wide open with surprise. Tears of joy streamed down her face when she embraced him in a tight hug. Akash and NK blushed and looked away. "Oh, thank god! Thank god you are alright.. I was so worried.."Khushi said, sobbing; Arnav smiled and caressed her hair. Suddenly she pulled away and punched him in the arm. "How dare you? How dare you scare me this way? I knew the tea wasn't poisoned, because Nanheji and I exchanged cups. But when you fell, I thought.. " Khushi stopped and made an annoyed face. "Of course, I feel stupid now. Of course you had to act dead to convince Shyamji that his plan worked." Then she looked at him and made a pouty face, "But you could have told me", a tear rolled down her cheek. Arnav smiled and took her hand in his. "Khushi, I'm sorry, I thought you knew! I thought you were acting and I went along." Khushi punched him on the arm again, "Don't you dare scare me like that again" and hugged him; she said softly. "I thought I lost you, Arnavji". Arnav smiled and put his arms around her. NK and Akash looked at each other and smiled.

When the ambulance stopped, they got out. Akash paid the actors who had dressed up as the driver and the hospital attendants. NK turned to Arnav and Khushi, "Why don't you both go up to the room we booked for Nanav. Akash and I will go to the lab and get this powder tested". Khushi and Arnav walked into the hotel and up to their room. Arnav closed the door and Khushi put her arms around his waist and pressed her cheek against his back. Arnav turned around and hugged her. "What now, Arnavji? Do you think the powder was poison? Then that means'" Khushi looked into Arnav's eyes and a tear escaped her eye. "I don't want to go home, not without you. You promised me you will be by my side forever and now.." Khushi bit her lips to control her tears. Arnav smiled and caressed her hair and placed a kiss on her forehead. "I will miss you too, Khushi. But we are so close now. Shyam thinks he won again and let him think that. Look, if I have to act dead, then you will have to act as though you are mourning my death. If something goes wrong, then he will be suspicious. Remember I want NK with you at all times. I do not want you going near Shyam alone ever, ok? Please promise you will be careful, Khushi." Khushi smiled and hugged Arnav again.

"It was poison, alright. Jiju would have gotten away with it, because this poison goes undetected once it is dissolved. It would have seemed like a natural death, because heart attacks are highly likely in diabetics", NK said later after Akash and NK came up to the room Arnav and Khushi were in. "I am calling Ma", Akash started dialing Manorama's number. "Ma, bhai is fine. Jijaji tried to poison him. NK bhai and Khushiji switched the cups, but Jijaji doesn't know that. He expects Bhai to be dead, so that's what you should tell him. But make sure Di and Dadi don't know that. We don't want them to suffer. If Jijaji asks more about Bhai's death, tell him to contact Dr. Raj Malhotra; he knows what to say", Akash told Manorama; Arnav, Khushi, NK and he had decided that it was best if Anjali and Nani think that Arnav was alive, while it was more important for Shyam to think that he was dead. NK turned to Khushi, "Khushiji, are you ready to go home?" Khushi looked at Arnav, with tears in her eyes. He took her hand and looked at her with a smile. She took a deep breath and nodded, looking at NK. Akash stood up, when Arnav said suddenly, "Wait, Akash. Di. I think Di might create a scene.. Khushi was there when it happened.. so she might accuse Khushi, maybe even insist on getting the police involved. We cannot afford to have any investigation happen now, since there is no case". Khushi shook her head, "No Arnavji, I don't think Di would.." Akash smiled, "Khushiji, maybe Di wont. But why take a chance? Don't worry, bhai. I will take care of that. I am sure the ambulance driver and attendants can be convincing as police too. " Everyone smiled.

Flashback 9: At Shantivan, when Anjali accuses Khushi of trying to kill Arnav

Flashback 10: Khushi called Shyam for the first time

Someone knocked on the door and Arnav ran to open it. As he threw the door open, Khushi jumped into his arms and hugged him tightly. Arnav smiled and put his arms around her. "Did you miss me, sweetheart?" Arnav whispered in her ear, softly. She pulled away, tried to make a straight face and shook her head. Arnav smirked and folded his arms, "Oh really?" He pulled her close again and hugged her and kissed her hair. They pulled apart when they heard someone clear their throat. Arnav saw NK, Payal, Akash and Manorama standing behind the door, smiling. Everyone walked in and sat around the bed, while Arnav and Khushi sat on the bed. They filled Arnav in on what happened at home. Arnav took Khushi's hand and touched her face. "Are you alright, Khushi?" Khushi nodded and touched his hand. "Yes, I am. I didn't feel bad at all. Di is upset, but time will heal. I understand, Arnavji." Arnav smiled. Manorama looked at Khushi, "So what now?" Khushi looked at Arnav and then at everyone else, "Well, on the ride here I was wondering about why Shyamji made sure that I was the one who gave you the tea. Would he have poisoned the tea if Hari Prakashji was giving you the tea? " Arnav raised his eyebrows. NK asked, "Oh... Khushiji, you think he was trying to frame you, so that he will never get caught?" "Maybe." "But you said according to the will, he will get all the money. So what is your motive?" Akash asked. Arnav closed his eyes and took in a deep breath. "Well, he wants Khushi to admit that she needs his help." Payal raised her eyebrows and looked at Khushi. Khushi looked at her nervously. "No, that is not going to happen." Payal said, shaking her head. "Jiji, relax, please." Khushi started saying, but Arnav took Khushi's hand, "Well, why don't we just call him? The thought of you being near that scoundrel makes me nervous. Call him and say that you ran out of the police station and.." Khushi looked into his eyes and continued, "and say that I need his help?" Payal started saying something but Khushi looked at her and shook her head. But Akash asked, "But why is Jiju going into all the trouble to get Khushiji on his side?" Arnav and Khushi looked at each other. NK got up and said, "Akash, everything will be revealed soon and this will all be over, right, Nanav?" Arnav looked at NK and gave him a grateful smile. "Ok, come on, come on, let's go." NK said and started moving towards the door. He turned to Khushi and Arnav, "All the best. Now it is all up to both of you!"

Khushi kept the phone, after calling Shyam and looked at Arnav. "Are we doing the right thing, Arnavji? I'm worried. How will Di react once everything comes out?" Arnav took her face in his hands. "Don't worry about that, sweetheart. I promise you that I will not let anything happen to Di." They hugged each other.

Flashback 11: Khushi called Shyam the second time

"Yes, Mr. Roy. Ok, thank you for letting me know." Arnav kept the phone down and smiled at Khushi. "I can't believe everything is going according to plan. Yes, he called Mr. Roy and asked him to bring the will." Khushi smiled and then checked the clock on the wall. "It is almost two hours now. Do you want me to call him?" Arnav nodded. Khushi dialed Shyam's number. Khushi's smile brightened as she listened to the conversation. She kept the phone down and grinned. "Shyamji wants me to come to Shantivan, he says he will fix all my problems." Khushi chuckled and Arnav smiled.

Flashback 12: Right before Khushi entered Shantivan

Arnav and Khushi stopped at the door, hand-in-hand. She turned to face him, looking nervous. Arnav took her face in his hands and kissed her forehead. "This is it, sweetheart. It will all be over soon." She hugged him and took a deep breath and pressed the doorbell, as Arnav hid behind the wall.

Ok guys, that's the end of the flashbacks.. well hint, hint.. there might be one more flashback later, I skipped the romance 😃

Ok, so I know everything went according to their plan. I thought I will make something go wrong and Shyam get suspicious, but then decided.. why? that will happen in teh show anyways.. in my story, Arnav and Khushi win.. Shyam loses.. !
