Part 15: The plan - part 2

Flashback 5: When Khushi, Mami, Nani, Anjali and Shyam are having dinner, end of Part 11

NK ran into the kitchen, to find Payal stacking up rotis to take to the dining table. "Payal bhabhi, where is Khushiji?" NK ran his hand through his hair. "Oh no, I should warn Khushiji,.Jijaji is planning something, something big." Payal's eyes widened, she put her hands on NK's arms and asked, "What? What do you mean? What is Shyamji going to do? Is he going to hurt Khushi? Tell me Nanheji, tell me." NK looked around and said, "Payal bhabhi, you know about Jijaji? Please, please, remain calm. I have been watching Jijaji ever since Khushiji was in the hospital, because he was the one behind Nanav's kidnapping. Now it's getting worse, today, after HP called Di and Jiju for dinner, after Di left, Jiju, he called someone and he was asking about poisons that induce heart attacks but remain undetected. Now Khushiji is having food, we should, we should warn her". Payal moved back, shocked. "Jijaji? He was behind Arnavji's kidnapping? Khushi, so that's why she didn't tell me?" NK looked worried and said, "Oh, you did not.. well.. hmm.. Yes, Payal bhabhi, I can't explain everything now, we should.." Payal's face filled with fury, "You don't have to explain NK bhai, Shyamji is capable of that and more!". NK looked at her confused, but before he could ask her what she meant, they heard screams and they ran out to see Anjali dragging Khushi to the front door.

Flashback 6: After Arnav carried an unconscious Khushi to her room followed by Payal, NK, Akash and Mami

Khushi opened her eyes and saw Arnav sitting next to her, her hand in his and his face filled with worry. His face lit up as he saw her open her eyes, he bent down and took her in his arms and hugged her tight. "Khushi", Payal said her name, tears of happiness rolling down her cheeks. "Thank god Arnavji came at the right time, before Di could.." Payal walked to Arnav and put her hand on his shoulder. "Arnavji, enough. We need to tell Di the truth. I can't let her keep hurting Khushi this way. We have to tell Di." Khushi shook her head, "No, Jiji. I am fine. Di won't be able to handle the truth." Manorama nodded and said, "Anjali bitiya won't even believe what we say. She is blinded by her love. We should wait for the right moment, and let her hear the truth from Damadji. Only then.." Akash interrupted her, "Maa, what are you talking about? What truth? What will Jijaji say?" Manorama looked at Arnav and Khushi, before she could speak, Payal kneeled down on the floor next to Khushi and too her hand. "Khushi, why didn't you tell me that Shyamji was behind all this? Why did you do everything on your own? Did you not think I would be able to support you, Khushi? I know what you have been through because of him and.." Khushi grabbed her hand and shook her head; she didn't want everyone hearing about her past, not now. Arnav stood up and turned to Akash, "Akash, let me explain." Payal sat down next to Khushi and hugged her. Just as Arnav finished telling a horrified Akash that Shyam was behind his kidnapping, the door opened and NK stepped in. He closed the door behind him. Arnav asked, "NK, where were you?" NK was about to say something, when he saw Akash standing there, but Arnav said, "It's ok, Akash knows." "Nanav, my brother, I don't know where to start. I was just telling Payal bhabhi," he looked at Payal, who was sitting on the bed, her arm around Khushi who was leaning against a pillow. "that I heard Jijaji talking on the phone with someone about poisons that go undetected, but can cause heart attacks." Everyone raised their eyebrows hearing it. "Arnavji", Khushi said his name softly, but Arnav ignored it and walked forward and put his hand on NK's shoulder. "and, did he go somewhere now? Did you follow him?" NK nodded, "Yes, he went to a drug store and purchased something. I just looked it up online and it is a poison. Nanav, I don't know what he is going to use it for". "Arnavji", Khushi said his name softly, again, almost like a whisper. Arnav could hear the pain in her voice and he turned around to look at her. A tear escaped her eye. "Khushi", he ran to her and sat down next to her. "Khushi, please don't cry". Khushi hugged Arnav and said, "I'm scared. What if he is trying to hurt you?" Arnav pulled away from the hug and wiped her tears. "That is okay Khushi. That is exactly what he is planning to do. That is exactly what I wanted him to do. We want him to think that he is smart, that everything is going his way. That is why I made sure that he heard me say that I had no clue about the kidnapper and now he thinks you are on his side as well. Now he is very sure of his success. People do stupid things when they are arrogant." He smiled and touched her face. "No one knows that better than I do. When he tries something, we will be ready. We all need to be very cautious from now on. All of you need to keep an eye on Shyam and especially whether he goes near anything Khushi and I eat or drink from now on." Everyone nodded.

After everyone left, Arnav closed the door and walked to the bed and hugged Khushi. She hugged him back. He kissed her forehead and said, "Sweetheart, you and me, we are a great team. If Shyam thinks he is smart, we both are smarter! And now that we are a team, we are unbeatable. No one can defeat us, sweetheart." Khushi smiled and nodded. "Arnavji, I promise I will not let anything happen to you." "I know, sweetheart". Arnav smiled.

Flashback 7: Before Khushi went to the kitchen to make tea.

NK and Khushi were sitting in the living room, laughing watching something on NK's laptop and quietly observing Shyam who was reading a newspaper next to them. Arnav came in after jogging, stopped and yelled, "Hari Prakash, bring my tea up to my room". Khushi stood up and said, "I will get tea for you." Arnav's eyes widened, "Khushi, sorry sweetheart, I didn't see you sitting there." He noticed Shyam flinch hearing the word sweetheart. "Sure, I will be waiting for... my tea... upstairs." Arnav said with a naughty smile and Khushi blushed; Arnav noticed Shyam's face twitching while still concentrating on the paper. Arnav smiled and jogged up the stairs to his room. Shyam looked up from his newspaper and stared at Arnav and then he got up angrily and left the room. NK got up from the sofa and walked to Khushi. "Do you think he will try something now, Nanheji?" NK shook his head. "I don't know, Khushiji. But don't worry". Khushi nodded, "Nanheji, remember what Arnavji said, we need to let Shyamji think that he is winning, so we will give him a chance to poison the tea. He knows that I am going to make tea, so if he wants to poison it, he will find an excuse to come to the kitchen." Khushi turned to NK, "Nanheji, come with me." NK looked confused, "I want you to take a cup of tea and stay outside the room and check if Shyamji tries to poison the tea. If he does, on my way to Arnavji's room..." NK smiled, "I see.. you want me to give you the cup that I have with me. Ok, done. Let's go Khushiji."

As NK left the kitchen with the tea cup, he stopped outside the door and peeped in. He saw Shyam move closer to Khushi and Khushi drop the tea pot. When Khushi turned to look for a broom, NK's eyes widened as he saw Shyam take a paper from his pocket, open it and drop some white powder into the tea that Khushi had poured. Suddenly he heard footsteps and NK hid behind a pillar, as he saw Anjali walk towards the kitchen. Soon he saw Khushi come out of the kitchen. He ran to her, took the cup from her and gave her his cup, "Quick Khushiji, take this tea cup. Now go go, fast." Khushi's eyes widened as she realized that Shyam had indeed poisoned the tea, but she quickly walked to her room. Khushi walked towards the stairs, just as Shyam and Anjali came out of the kitchen. NK, still hidden behind the pillar, watched as Shyam stared at Khushi walking up the stairs. NK slowly tiptoed into the kitchen. He took out his phone and dialed Arnav's number. "Nanav, Jiju added poison to your tea and he thinks the tea Khushiji is bringing you is poisoned. But we exchanged it, so the one she is bringing is safe. But Jiju does't know that. He watched her walk up to your room, so he will expect you to drink it soon. Nanav, my brother, I hope you know how to act dead". Arnav smiled and said, "I will handle it, NK. Thanks!" He kept the phone and smiled as Khushi walked into the room. NK looked around and found a plastic bag, he emptied the contents of the cup into the bag. He noticed that there was white residue at the bottom of the cup. He found another plastic bag and put the tea cup in it. He took both the bags and walked out of the kitchen, making sure that no one saw him.
