PROUD TO BE A PART OF 'GUMRAH- END OF INNOCENCE': KARAN KUNDRA
With highest TRP among all youth based reality shows, teen crime TV show 'Gumrah- End of Innocence's season1 has recently concluded highlighting numerous crimes committed by youth of today.
And it is a proud moment for all Jalandharites as the host of show Karan Kundra belongs to Jalandhar who prior to Gumrah was seen in his debut Punjabi movie 'Pure Punjabi' and also got recognition and huge fan following from his daily soap 'Kitni Mohabbat Hai'.
As Karan Kundra readies himself for the next season of Gumrah which would begin from July 9, Yes Punjab had a chat with him regarding his future plans.
How was the entire experience of Gumrah Season1?
Undoubtedly it was a nice and memorable experience. It is once in a lifetime show and I feel lucky to be a part of such boldly conceptualized show where the main focus is on teen crime which is need of an hour. I would say that it is one of the best choices of my career.
Why a reality show?
Basically I didn't want to do mainstream TV like daily soaps or reality shows as I have already achieved fame by doing daily soaps. I wanted to take up something different which suits my personality and then Gumrah happened and I said yes for it.
How tough was to find out such teen crimes and when found then to portray them?
It was not at all difficult to find out crimes related to youngsters as one would be shocked to know that every city of state is filled with teen crimes. It's high time now. In fact it was quite hard to choose out of them and portray them in such a way that it could create awareness among society and at the end leave a message for the youth.
Ahhh! Not at all, if you see our episodes then most of the crimes are done by youth belonging from well-off families. It's not about money or education now, the main reason is lack of communication, gap between children and parents. Youth is surely confronting lack of love and care from parents and friends which force them to commit such evil things.
Anything special viewers will watch in new season of Gumrah?
I can't reveal much but definitely yes there would be more interactions with youth, will be highlighting more teen crime cases in total 52 episodes.
