Mouni Roy is presently staying in Oshiwara with a bunch of friends. Even though the production house for which she's working has made arrangements for her accommodat- ion, the actress prefers to slum it out with friends. The reason? A friend close to the actress says, "She thinks the house is haunted and doesn't feel comfortable living there alone."
Adds Mouni, "I don't feel comfortable there. Maybe it's just in my mind, but I am not too keen on staying there."
Bookworm
The actress, who hails from Bengal, lived in Delhi the last four years. "I was doing my MA in Mass Communication from Jamia Milia. I'm actually waiting for my final results right now."
She signed on for Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and started shooting barely days after giving her final exams. "Everything happened so fast that in the blink of an eye I was in Haridwar shooting for Kyunki," said Mouni.
Even though this is her debut on television, Mouni isn't new to acting. "I have done quite a few theatre productions while in Delhi. Besides that, I am also a trained classical dancer. I know Kathak, and am even fond of jazz and salsa."
Even though she is still waiting for her results, Mouni is planning to get an MA in English. "I don't mind doing it through correspondence. I think education and a good degree is important in life, whatever profession you're in."
Autopilot
When it comes to travelling in the city, Roy surprisingly prefers using the common public mode of transport. "I travel in rickshaws. Actually, I look quite different off screen, so most people don't recognise me as Krishna Tulsi. Besides that, I am quite new to the city and not yet well-versed with the roads."
Roy has decided to devote all her time to bettering herself as an actress. "It's a very cordial atmosphere on the sets. From the first day itself, the senior actors have been helping me out and giving me guidance. As the younger generation actors, we have a lot of fun. I enjoy working on Kyunki even though I shoot for long hours."
