Story before:
Arnav and Khushi get married' The MU doesn't get cleared' Both have gotten habitual to each other' Six months pass in a blur and now'
OS: THE LAST NIGHT
The sense of his presence beat the sound of the wind chime as Arnav entered his room. She looked up.
Kyon dard hai itna'
Tere ishq mein'
Rabba ve' Rabba ve' Rabba ve, Rabba ve'
Rabbaaa ve'
They looked at each other; their hearts in their eyes. Both had a lot to say but nothing to share. A lot to share but nothing to say. Six months that defined their marriage had passed. Arnav and Khushi had got into the routine of living as Mr. and Mrs. Raizada. The misunderstanding still stood' but not as tall. It was just present at the back of their minds'
Arnav's day began listening to his wife sing:
Aaj mausam hai suhana'
Nahane ka hai bahan'
Nanna' nanna' nanna'
His day passed listening to her ever going on chatter whenever she was around him.
Arnavji ye' Arnavji vo'
And when he snapped on her, her exclaiming "Laad governer!"
Though Arnav claimed that he found peace at his work where he wouldn't have to listen to Khushi prattle on, the truth was otherwise.
Even the last sight before he called it a night was Khushi sleeping peacefully on his bed.
Khushi was so used to his 'what the!' that she couldn't imagine a day without listening to his masterpiece phrase. Evan when he snapped on her, she enjoyed. In fact, if by the end of the day if Arnav had not once asked her to shut she got under his skin and made sure he did cry out 'shut up!'
Taking care that he took his medicines on time and only ate only those jalebies of her making that were custom made for him i.e the ones that were sugar free was a full time occupation.
Well, this was another definition of love. Misunderstandings, fights, insults and a sense of betrayal kept them from truly expressing how much the other meant for one' but even such dark feelings couldn't keep them apart. Nafrat paas aane na de' mohabbat door jaane na de' Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?
Khushi broke the eye contact first. Arnav saw that she was packing. He felt a tug at his heart. The three fourth cupboard that her clothes and accessories had occupied was now empty. Aranv didn't like the space devoid of Khushi's things. He didn't like it going back to its standard dark shade, something that he earlier liked it to be.
Arnav took a deep breath and went to the pool area with his laptop. Something about the sight of Khushi packing was disturbing him. The six months of their marriage contract were up. Khushi was abiding by it. He should be happy that she was leaving. Isn't that what he always wanted, for her to leave his life forever? Except now maybe he didn't want that.
As he stepped into the pool area, memories took over him.
He pulled Khushi up when she was about to fall into the pool. Papers were flying all around them.
He had taken hold of her hand under water.
He was blowing gently into her eyes to relieve her from the irritation that the mud particles in her eyes were resulting in.
He kissed her cheek.
She kissed him.
He disentangled her form the fairy lights.
He pulled him towards her with her dupatta.
The almost kiss'
This was too much. He couldn't take it. He clutched his laptop tight as he squeezed his eyes shut.
Kyon khwabon pe tere saaye hai'
Dil kyon hai hai tanha mera'
Arnav turned to walk back in his room. Khushi was now removing her stars down. As Arnav turned, Khushi looked up.
Kyon khamoshi hai zuban meri'
Ashqo se keh paaun na'
No, Arnav couldn't take this. He remembered the time Khushi had hung them up there' above his bed' so excitedly. He left the room after placing his laptop on the recliner.
Kyon dard hai itna'
Tere ishq mein'
It wasn't easy for Khushi either. She was leaving the man she loved forever. She would nevr see him again. Never! She sat down on the bed clutching the mattress. Tears trickled down her cheeks as she squeezed her eyes shut.
Rabba ve' rabba ve' rabba ve, rabba ve'
Arnav crashed on the sofa. It was dark all around. He hadn't bothered to switch on the lights. He couldn't get why Khushi leaving hurt him. He didn't love her anymore. Not after he found out what she upto. No, he couldn't.
Rabbaaa ve'
Both were waging a war with themselves.
A: why can't she stay? I didn't ask her to leave. I didn't tell her that her wedding was off'
K: Be strong, girl! i don't want to, par unhone hunse ek baar bhi nahi kaha ki hum'
A: Don't go khushi'
K: Vo kyon kahege? Unhone to shaadi ' nahi! Iss natak ko shuru karte hue hi keh diya tha ki'
A: I Know maine kaha tha ki ye shaadi sirf che mahine ke liye valid hai par'
K: Unhe koi farak nahi padta to tujhe bhi nahi panda chahiye! She chastised herself and resumed her work.
A: Go to hell Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada! No! Go to hell Khushi Kumari Gupta! For all I care! Aur uske liye shaadi bahut matter karti thi' huh!
He would not let her actions affect him! He would keep doing his work as usual. He went back to his room only to not be welcomed by her wind chime. She had removed them too. Without Khushi's little little things the room now looked devoid of any life' it was only four walls enclosing a space' the room was gone' but it was always how Arnav Singh Raizada's room had been' only now he couldn't recognize it'
Khushi was now settling the bed to call it a night. Her last night at the Raizada mansion. Her last night with the love of her life. Her last night with Arnav'
