I just posted this as a reply to the topic Gia is very young, but wanted to make a seperate topic on this and want to know your opinion on the same. The below is purely my take on why Star Plus give a reply saying that Gias image on dance sshow is not according to the character.
The reality of Star Plus not allowing Gia and Hina in JDJ is as below:
How can Gopi (an illeterate house wife) be in a dance show?
Suhana can be... she is spoilt brat... so she can participate in any singing and dance shows
Ragini can (bidaai) ... she is a dancer by profession in the show
Akshara can't... she is also a housewife...
How can an advocate Viren and halwai Suraj be in dance shows????
Kushi could have.. she is outspoken... Star Plus would have allowed Sanaya this year.. if there was no controversies with Gia and Hina... she did not stand up for her rights... may be because her show is already having issues due to Barun's movie
This is pretty crap attitude of Star Plus where actors are supposed to be in their role and will never be allowed to do anything outside their characters.. I also feel that this attitude is mainly for females since they are allowing Barun and Nazim do movies... so this is something to be discussed as a feminist issue also
Gia had the guts to stand up for rights.. there is nothing in the contract or anything.. they cannot make a policy only for one individual.. I work in corporate world... and I know how policies work.. that is what they are saying now as unprofessional attitude .. Gia only broke an unwritten rule of keeping the image.. the issue never came before since no Star Plus Bahu was like Gopi till date I think... no body was an illiterate who never went outside her house alone even for a shopping...
So Star Plus suddenly made up a rule and said she is unprofessional.. this unwritten rule was never even known to her since she was not in house arrest like Jassi , she was allowed to wear western dresses in her personal life, when Star Plus want to conduct award functions they allowed her to dance for "Darling"... so she is not completely at fault... when she was made aware of this as an intelligent person she may have questioned the sanity of star plus and that of audience... that hurt the ego of star plus
I am editing the below part a liitle bit because after reading Aris's reply to my post, I just want to say that what he/she said is exactly what I wanted to convey.
Also as a fan of show, people have to support and stay with the show if character changes. I appreciate people who are still watching the show for the story. They are supporting their favourite show and its other actors who are at no fault for this fiasco.
But I really even want them to support the cause of bringing Gia back to the show. That is because I believe that even their intelligence is being questioned. Even they will agree with me that the show would have been much better with the original face of the character, whom the channel changed overnight for absurd reasons.
But as an audience with intelligence, we should try to bring her back to the show and make the channel understand that that we are not brainless people who cant make a difference between a character and an actor.. Also we should stand with Gia since she has given an insight into how terrible the life of actors are.. They are really afraid of big channels and production houses.. they are not even ready to come out in open to support a girl who stood up for her rights fearing their own career.. they may have fame..but no freedom :-(
Here I have mentioned that we should stand with Gia. I merely meant we should stand with her decisions. She is not exactly a victim here ... because she stood up for her rights. So she is a fighter. But bringing back her to the show will prove that if you stand up for her rights, you may not be alone in your fight, when you fight for your rights. (the part about actors just came in as a rant)
Also dont take me wrong, if Gia dont come back to the show also her career will not be spoilt. She already has got her appreciations and fame from SNS. And she has talent. It is not going to be wasted. If she decides not to come back. I will respect that decision also.
The bold is the main point I am supporting the cause of bringing back Gia to the show whoever's fault it may be... I am not under the opinion that Gia is completely faultless in this issue.. but she has her reasons and that are sensible.. But channels reason is utterly senseless and is questioning the intelligence of audience.
Also with this stupid decision it has brought a big rift between the viewers. The very sane SNS forum is full of fights now with people supporting both sides. Whichever side they are supporting, they should understand that an injustice is done to themselves, ie the monopoly attitude of not giving a choice. The attitude of channel here is " this is what we are putiing into market.. we dont care what you want... Our ego is hurt and it has to be satisfied".
As a viewer we have the right to see what we want. Even people ready to give a chance to new actress will agree that the show would have been better if the old one was there. So when we are taking what we are offered, we are also not fighting for our rights. This is the answer to the question I have put on in the subject line. So we should not move on just now. Hope this made some sense.
Again sorry for my second long post.
