Telly Tadka once again brings you the good points, weak points and what can be done to better the quality of some of the popular TV Shows.
This week we are going to pick 3 of the brand newly launched shows from 3 different channels which have managed to grab quite a few eyeballs.
Colors TV's Show Madhubala..Ek ishq ek junoon: It is a story of a girl born on the sets of a Bollywood film who grows up to be mesmerizingly beautiful. She has no aspirations of entering the glamorous film industry but fate has something else in store for her. A girl with simple dreams is compelled to act and to everyones surprise a new star is born. Madhubala is a gripping story of middle class aspirations, values and desires, set against the backdrop of Bollywood. Its the journey of a simple girl Madhubala whose life takes a drastic turn after she becomes a superstar and faces her father after 20 years.
Good Points: The tremendous star cast of Raj Zutsi as the heartless father , beautiful Drashti Dhami as Madhubala and handsome Vivian Dsena as superstar RK has already become the talk of the town and grabbed quite a few eyeballs . The show is made on a grand scale and is given a film like treatment in its execution which is one of the strongest USP of this serial . Production values are quite grand and the overall performances of the actors and direction is quite impressive .Concept is quite unique and will appeal to the viewers who are looking for something different on TV apart from the stereotypical saas-bahu shows .
Weak Points: Even though it's a unique concept but often such shows have a limited storyline which gets over in few months time and after that such shows loose its grip over the storyline which can be a turn off for the viewers. At times there is too much of violence shown which might be a turn off for family viewers especially scenes where Balwant Choudhary brutally kills Dai Maa or takes his teeth out in inhuman manner might not gel well with its prime time family viewers. Editing at times is poor and needs improvement.
Points which can work better for the show: Makers should try to focus more on the workings of film industry and Madhubala's journey from a middle class simple girl to a superstar rather than taking the path of sibling rivalry track since already many ongoing shows are focusing on sibling rivalry. Chemistry between RK and Madhubala will hold the main key for the future success of this show and so CVs should give it their main focus.
