Chapter 5

Blast From The Past

Akash paced restlessly in dimly lighted hall at his house in Lonawala ,his eyes watching every now and then his cell phone, as he impatiently waited for Jainandinis call. Jai had promised to call him back as soon as she returned from Jaigad. At last the phone rang he swiftly pushed the green button and a broad smiled lightened his narrow grim face. But soon his juvenile heartfelt smile changed into an evil smirk as decided to himself that now he is going to make Yuvraaj Udayveer Singh pay back really hard. Akash was happy to know that his Moniya was still alive inside the responsibility trodden Yuvrani Manyata though in a crushed and crumbled form and all he needed to do was to rejuvenate that dying Moniya with his love. As for Udayveer ,Akash promised himself that he would make Manyata the last ever victory in Udayveer's life, which he would repent forever

The endless ceremonies for the welcome to new Maharani Manyata were at last over after a one long month.In this one month Manyata was all busy meeting the endless list of people of Jaigad Rajparivaar as the small looking Jaigad Rajparivaar had deep roots which spread globally, right from jaigad riyasat to Europe and America as Maharaj Giriraj was the eldest of three siblings, and his younger brother and sister were well settled in different countries with their family. Great ! she thought so now she is a part of a globally powerful Jaigad Rjparivvar, who were able to come together only at special occasions, and coming of new Jaigad Maharani after fifteen years was the most special of all.

Packing was always a strenuous task for Manyata though she had three maids helping her .Badi maasa came in and advised Manyata to have the Maharani Mandakini's jewellery as well. Manyata accepted the jeweleries thankfully and touched Badi Massa's feet ,her eyes were filled with tears .

At this Badi Maasa gave her a trademark all so bright smile and said' Don't worry dear I am coming to our Mumbai Palace .I too want to meet my Mrinali. Its years I met her.I am really thankful to her for turning out Mumbai palace into a combined Devgad Jaigad palace as now we both can play nice chess game sitting at our own palace.

Back at Mumbai palace Rajamat Mrinalini devi and Badi massa embraced each other like some long lost friends. These two white haired ladies made a contrast combination of politics and religion as one lived all her life manipulating and winning whereas the other lived like a saint all pious and truthfull, still their friendship had a strange charm in itself as both seemed to be each other's the most missing and also so longing half

Jai searched for Manyata and found her setting her bed room.

'So at last we r together like a happy family, Jay said as she layed herself comfortably on Manyatas bed ,playing with the cushion.

'No we are not Jai if you searching for your loving Jijaji Udayveer, then this is not the place, he is in Delhi attending some urgent meeting' , Manyata said placidly as she closed the almira behind her..

'I know jiji ,by the way jiji u dint check your mobile' , Jai said playing with her mobile I think you have got some important message, Jai left the room all smiling to herself.

Manyata was surprised to see the message from Akash.vHe wanted to meet her at coffee house. Manyata's heart seemed to pound in her chest with very feeling to face Akash again, as she was afraid of her ownself. She was afraid of reckless Moniya inside her, for whom Akash was the only destination. Maharani Komal was confused to see Manyata sitting all lost into herself. She cupped manyata's face with her hands and looked into her eyes which left Manyata with no choice but to burst into tears as she hugged her mother to comfort herself.

'Why do we have such past maa why ,why it hovers all our life, and can't we move on' Manyata cried as she embraced her mother tightly with non stop tears in her eyes.

Maharani Komal knew Manyata was talking about Akash. She comforted Manyata and asked her to face her past rather then run away from it. If Akash wants to meet her ,then she should go and meet him. But not as his Moniya but as Maharani Manayata Udayveer Singh because now she belongs to devgad as well as jaigad. Komal explained that now Akash too should accept your truth and move on as this the only way for both of you too be happy.

'So dear better talk to him and make your stand because that's the only way you can save three lives from being ruined', said Maharani Komal as she kissed Manyata's forehead and left.

It was raining heavily and the roads were already jammed. Udayveer was getting impatient sitting in the car. He had really missed Manyata and her always so busy face as in Jaigad she was at her toes busy hosting people and smiling wryly at unknown faces.

Manyata reached the coffee house, but she was surprised to see it all empty with only the Manager waiting at the desk. The Manager informed her that Mr. Akash Verma has booked the whole coffee house for her and said that he will be here in a moment. Manyata waited restlessly as she wanted to reach palace as soon as possible because Udayveer was about to come and she did want to face any of his new sarcasms. Manyata was taken aback as the two arms embraced her waist she defensively jerked the hands and looked back to see''''.

Manyata sighed and squeaked 'tu bhi na Akash, achha ab bol kya baat hai'

'Nothing just wanted to meet my moniya ,that's it', said Akash as he looked into her brown eyes and softly touched Manyata's face .

Manyata for a moment was lost in that soft loving touch, as Moniya in her seemed so ecstatic to see her Akash back, still with same honest and loving heart. But then she snapped and moved back, as she did not feel right their inside the coffee house all alone with Akash. She rushed to the exit door and Akash ran behind her.

'The jam will take time Sir', the driver told Udayveer , 'till then if you want you can have some warm coffee in the coffee shop' .

Udayveer liked the driver's idea as he was quit tired of long journey. He came out of the car and asked the driver to inform him as soon as jam opens. Udayveer enjoyed the soft drizzling as moved he towards the coffee shop.

Manyata was already out of the coffee shop and she hurried to toward her car, but was stopped by Akash as he seemed in no mood of letting her go so easily.

'Moniya' he said softly as he grasped her trembling hands the pull her to himself. Mnayata was already drenched in rain with water dripping from her soft hair locks. Manyata felt uncomfortable as Akash moved his arms around her waist ,she resited but the hold was too strong for her she looked at Akash helplessly as his eyes seemed to burn into her face.

Udayveer saw the couple from the distance and smile to himself and opened the gate he did not want to disturb them so looked down and moved towards the door but his hands got pulled behind .Udayveer looked back to see his watch entangled with the saree but then his legs seemed to freeze as he saw Manyata in Akash's arms,his hands around her waist.Akash seemed to enjoy every bit of Udayveer's shock as he had waited so long to see him that way.

Soon Udayveer's shock turned into a raging anger ,he stared Manyata and Akash spitefully, his eyes full of hatred.He turned back and tried to enter the coffe shop but his hands were already entangled in Manyatas saree,he jerked to free imself but instead manyata came falling on him as wretched girl seemed to be in no senses to face udayveer's anger ,she was too dumbstruck to respond to such an appalling situation.

The manager came running and asked if he can help but Udayveer was too busy in steading himself from his wife's great fall to answer the manager.

'No I think we can manage it ourselves', answered Akash, glaring at udayveer and manyata who were busy in freeing themselves from the saree mess. So Yuvraaj Udayveer Singh may I help ', smirked Akash as he moved his hand to free his watch from Manayats saree.

No thanks Udayveer snapped as he grabbed Manyat's arms tight enough to make her scream which made Akash relent back at Udayveer 'Udayveer don't you dare hurt my Moniya', Akash yelled.

'O really Akash ,yes you are right she is definitely your Moniya coz my Manyata would never put such shame on me',Uday retorted and pulled her hard leaving her stumle on him as she tried to balance herself with her hands on his chest.

'Anyways whosoever this petty girl is ,she has to really pay for what she has done to me' Udayveer spoke grinding his teeth as he walked out of coffee shop dragging Manyata with himself.

'You just can't Udayveer, Akash grabbed Udayveer's hand as the duo stared all ready to knock each other down .

But for Manyata it seemed to be too much .'Please let me go home' she yelled and walked towards the her car.

It was already too late as Manyata and Uday reached the palace. Udayveer was in no mood of letting go Manyata so easily and walked into the bedroom .Manyata was already terrified with Udayveers behaviour at Coffee house and she knew she was going to die today. She stood in the corner clutching her nightdress tightly.

'So here is our damsel in distress haan', Udayveer howled as he put both his hands on her either side pinning her down the wall. He looked into her eyes, his eyes burning with spiteful hatred. Manyata tried to close her eyes but she could not as his seemed to have locked them up.

You know what princess ' I repent every single moment I spent loving you, as you are not at worthy my love neither you are worthy to be my wife nor to be the maharani of Jaigad. Don't worry dear love .I am going to free you forever', Udayveer clenched his fist as he spoke these lines and dashed it hard on the table breaking the vase and leaving behind a spray of blood that came oozing out of his hands.

'Udayveer' manyata screamed as she saw the blood and grabbed his hand to stop the flow. But Udayveer flinched at the very touch of Manyata and jerked away.

'Don't You ever try to touch me with your mean hands, I despise your very existence and from now on you are dead for me' stated Udayveer and stormed out of the room.

Manyata cursed herself and the very moment she decided to meet Akash. She knew, something wrong would happen, as she always dreaded her helplessness and emotional turmoil concerning Akash. She just prayed everything to be fine by morning as she sat their with tear filled eyes holding tightly the bed post.

Udayveer sat on the armchair his legs spread ,the flashbacks of Manyata in Akash's arms seemed to pierce him like arrow he squeezed his wounded hand and flinched with pain. He knew this night was the darkest night of his life and something in him broke forever and it was his love and trust for Manyata. He closed his eyes and sole tear fell from his eye corner, Yuvraaj Udayveer Singh who loved manyata was dead tonight .

It was morning, the maid knocked the door. Manyata had slept all night on the floor by the bedpost, her body hurt as she rose up to answer the door. The morning tea was in , the maid said that everybody is in central hall and they want her to be their too. Manyata was surprised to hear this. She knew Udayveer must have created the issue of yesterday's happenings and cursed him for that.

Everybody stared at her as she came downstairs, Manyata looked confused as all seemed to be disgusted and despising her. Jai came with newspaper in her hand and forwarded it to her and said 'Jiji aapne to kamaal kar diya, raaton raat aap page three ki hottest gossip ban gayin hai.'

Manyata looked at the newspaper and was shocked to see her photo with Akash , her eyes downcast Ashamed !
