Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon, produced by Nautanki Telefilms for Colors has opened up to a good response. As per the first week average ratings, the show has managed to achieve the highest opening of any fiction show in the year 2012 with a TVR of 2.8. The Friday episode in which the veteran actor AK Hangal appeared scored a TVR of 3.0 wherein it beat the launch episode of Sony Entertainment Television's popular singing reality show Indian Idol which scored only 2.1.

Madhubala which has secured an average first week rating of 2.8 outscored Shashi-Sumeet Mittal Productions' Punar Vivaah (2.6) which till now was the show with the highest first week average ratings in 2012. To talk of few important fiction launches in the year 2012, Phir Subah Hogi (produced by IMRC Entertainment for Zee TV) had an opening of 2.2, while 24 Frames' Chhal Sheh Aur Maat on Colors also opened at an average of 2.2. Balaji Telefilm's Kya Hua Tera Vaada (Sony) had an opening rating of 2.1 while Ravi Ojha Productions' Sajda Tere Pyaar Mein for Star Plus (which is going off air this month) opened at 1.9. The recently launched Byah Humari Bahu Ka, by Hats Off Productions for Sony opened to an average TVR of 0.5.
S
aurabh Tewari, producer of Madhubala told Tellychakkar.com, "The opening ratings are good and we aim to keep up with the good work. The main story will begin this week and this will make for an interesting watch. Madhubala is slotted at a prime slot and the competition is high, as there are many good shows that are on air."

has reported yesterday (5 June 2012) that Madhubala is in for a leap of 20 years on 7 June 2012, and that will bring the protagonist Madhubala, essayed by Drashti Dhami into focus.

We wish the team of Madhubala all the very best...
