Part 4...

They heard a gunshot.

"Oh no! They are coming!",gasped Khushi.

Arnav cupped her face in panic.

"Khushi! Why have you come here! What was the need!",Arnav scolded Khushi.

She quickly held his hand and ran towards the door. She creaked the door open a bit and peeped outside. She could see nothing but darkness.

"So the lights have not yet been repaired",she thought.

She looked at Arnav. He was not in a state to even walk properly. His hands and legs had turned red and he looked vulnerable. She shook her tears away and held his hand, pulling him out into the darkness.

"Khushi, I can't see anything",whispered Arnav as they blindly made their way towards the staircase.

"I am not an owl either. Even I can't see",whispered back Khushi making Arnav smile at her reply.

Suddenly they saw shadows coming down the staircase.

"Quick! hide! ",whispered Khushi pulling Arnav with her , as they leaned against the wall, hoping that those men couldn't see them.

The two men stormed down the staircase.

"Look inside the room! QUICK!",Manish shouted.

Another gunshot made Arnav and Khushi tremble as they tightly cuddled each other.

"Don't waste the bullets idiot! Now you have only one inside it!",Roshan retorted.

"Who gives a damn about the girl! I am hunting for the guy. Boss has given orders to kill him. And one bullet is more than enough to pierce his body"Manish said as they rushed inside the room in which Arnav had been held as captive.

Arnav and Khushi heaved a huge sigh of relief. Khushi glared at him.

"THEY WERE GOING TO KILL YOU! Why did you lie that you were fine. I knew you were not",she scolded him.

Arnav cupped her face.

"Khushi! It is okay! I am Fine! Lets go now",Arnav said standing up.

"Wait!",Khsuhi whispered,"There are three guys in total. So the third one might be outside. We need to be cautious",she warned.

"DAMN! He ran away! Search for him! Shoot at sight!",they heard one of the goons shouting from inside.

"Run quick! ",she whispered and they climbed up the stairs.

Khushi quickly took her cell phone and dialled a number on the way. Arnav looked at her as she whispered into the phone.

"No questions! Just listen to me and do as I say.."she said.

"Where the hell are they!",Manish stormed, breaking all the things in his way. Just then his phone rang. He panicked seeing the letters 'Boss calling' flashing on the screen.

As Arnav and Khushi stepped out of the cottage, they saw a goon turning towards them. They quickly ran inside trying to search for a place to hide.

BANG!, a stone flew just inches away from where Khushi and Arnav were sitting.

"MANISH! Stop it! Stop breaking things! You are a lunatic! We will tell Boss that we killed him",Roshan suggested.

"O Shut up! Boss and the guy live in the same house IDIOT!He'll get to know we lied",Manish retorted.

Khushi peeped out of the box they were sitting inside for the past 20 minutes. All the three goons were still sitting there. Khushi sighed. Suddenly her face lit up as she saw them go inside towards the staircase.

"They have gone to the basement. This is the chance. lets go",Arnav whispered to Khushi, making his best efforts in standing up on his wounded legs.

Khushi helped him walk out of the eerie cottage. They were just outside when Khushi remembered something.

"Why are you going inside?"asked a flabbergasted Arnav.

"I just forgot something! You stay here! You can't even walk!I'll be back by the count of 10! Promise", she reassured him,kissing him on his forehead. Without waiting for his reply she rushed inside.

She went back to where they both hid. She peeped inside the box. NOTHING.

"Where is the damn cell phone!",Khushi shouted mentally.

Suddenly she felt a hard hand on her shoulder. She turned around expecting Arnav. But her eyes burst open as she saw HIM.

"Searching for something dear?", Manish grinned evilly, her mobile in his hands.
