Well,
Since everyone is raving and ranting about Madhubala's reasonably good opening and how it has been embraced by critics and audience alike, I thought why not make a post for people who are behind this stupendous opening of 2.8 and a commendable 3.0 rating for last Friday.
For once, the credit does NOT go to Drashti Dhami and Vivian Dsena. Their big names and fabulous promos only brought the audience to the TV screens on Monday 8.30pm. But the people who kept the audience hooked to the seat were not DVD. It was the towering and nail biting persona of Raj as Ballu, it was the excellent acting prowess of Pallavi as the fragile but courageous Padmini , it was the Dharmendra act of the intense and kind Shamsher played by Bhupinder , it was the colourful showtime play of Rakhi as the firebrand Roma , it was the flawless act and characterization of Shagufta as the evil Badi Chaudhrain and Sushmita as the eat-all Daai Maa. And the whole supporting cast that brought to life what the creative team wrote and the director visualized. Not to forget the gracing presence of Hangal Sir.
I have nothing against DVD - they are good actors , the USP of the show and the future torch bearers of the show. But in the rowing wind of the fandom, and the desperate wait to see them, we cannot take away the credit from where it is due. The ratings that this show have gathered are because of the powerhouse play put up by the current acting team, the sheer brilliance of the writing team, the visualization of Ravinder Gautam as a director and the support of Saurabh Tiwari.
Yes, its DVD's show but these initial episodes and their success is credited to this current team only and lets have the thought and honest dignity to give the credit where it truly belongs,
