Non-Indian seeking help.

Hello, I need to call the Pune region of India, but everytime I try using my calling card, the number is either uncrecognizable or just not working. I know I dial 011 + country code + city code + the seven digit phone number, and have tried, but have not succeeded. Everytime I dial, I dial without the city code, because my calling card won't read any longer numbers. I guess it is partially my fault for buying a seemingly faulty calling card, but if any of you in the USA (east coast) could help, it would be appreciated. What is a *good* calling card I could use to call from New York? I don't have long distance, and I assume that if I did call that far, the surcharges would be one too many.

Please help me as this is urgent... and I am sorry if I posted this in the wrong place.

Well when I call from USA,I dial the calling code, pin number, area code and phone number.
