Bollywood films of June

What's on the platter? | |||
As we said expect guns, gore, and a little romance in June, the message would have been clear to the Bollywood buffs. June has a series of action thrillers lined up in tandem. Yes, it starts with Rowdy Rathore, a quintessential masala film with action at its core, and has films like Shanghai and Gangs Of Wasseypur next in the line. One of the biggest releases of this month is Rowdy Rathore which brings the Khiladi Kumar back to action, from where actually he started. A Sanjay Leela Bhansali production, Rowdy Rathore is Sonakshi Sinha's second release after Dabangg. Another superhit material of the month seems to be the romantic offering by Kunal Kohli. His film Teri Meri Kahaani with Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra is the only romantic film of the month, so chances are quite high that the audience is going to love the film. Besides masala films, Anurag Kashyap's hard-hitting political thriller Gangs Of Wasseypur, with a smattering of Bollywood spice, looks like a money-spinning deal at the BO. The movie has received rave reviews in Cannes and back in India, the audiences are eagerly waiting for it. Ditto is the case with Dibakar Banerjee's big-budget film Shanghai with Emraan Hashmi and Abhay Deol in lead. The movie also has politics as its main theme. |
