Raat ke 9 baje(9 PM)Part 1
I dedicate this SS to my dear friend Shesha who wants me to write a story taking inspiration from the telugu film Subham.The title and the lead pairs are also suggested by Shesha.

A bedridden grandmother..
All were sure that she was near her last moment.So all the family members sat close to her.
Suddenly she looked at the clock.It was sharp 9 PM.
She:My last wish is to see the TV serial 'Kya yahi pyar hai?'
The family members switched on the TV.
The daily soap started.
The male lead Viraj shouted at the female lead Jhanvi.
Viraj:I told you that I don't like my wife working.But still you are going for work.I want my wife to be a house wife.How many times did I tell you?Why don't you obey me?
Jhanvi started crying.
The next day..
Viraj felt guilty.
Viraj:I shouted at Jhanvi too much.Poot girl!I should apologize to her.
Viraj searched for Jhanvi in the house,but he could not find her.Suddenly he saw a letter on the table.
It was written by Jhanvi.
"I realized that I am a burden for you.I can't sacrifice my self respect anymore.So I am leaving this place".
Viraj became upset.
He looked at Jhanvi's framed photograph and said:I will not give up Jhanvi.I really have faith in our love.I am coming to you.I will find you.
Viraj started searching for Jhanvi.But he could not find her.
The episode ended.
The old lady got frustrated:This daily soap started years ago.I hoped to see it's happy climax before my death.But unfortunately I don't have the luck to see it.
Virani Industries....
Angad Virani is the head of the company.
Angad was lost in his private secretary Vrinda.Vrinda blushed.
Vrinda:Instead of staring at me,do something to get our marriage fixed.
Angad:I have already told my parents about you.They are very happy.Very soon we will meet your family to get our marriage fixed.
Vrinda was surprised.
Vrinda:Really?
Angad:Yes.
Vrinda smiled happily.
Harsh and Rajvansh are Angad's best friends.
Harsh's wife Maitree served break fast to him.
Harsh:What is this Maitree?Why did you make this food?
Maitree:You like this.That's why I made it for you.
Harsh:You have made this dish many times.I am fed up of eating this.So don't make this anytime sooner.
Maitree became dull.
Maitree prepared another food item for Harsh.But after tasting it he walked away from the dining room.Maitree followed him.
Maitree:Harsh...you did'nt eat it.
Harsh:I don't have time to eat it as I have work in my office.And the food is not that tempting to make me eat it.
Maitree became upset.
He went to his office.
Maitree:It is so difficult to satisfy Harsh.
Rajvansh's wife Purvi was watching a TV serial.Rajvansh switched off the TV.
Purvi became upset.
Purvi:Why did you switch it off RV?It was so interesting.
RV:Purvi,you should watch useful TV programmes,not useless daily soaps.
Purvi became upset.
Purvi:I am bored RV.You are not sending me to work also.Only TV serials are my relief.
RV:Okay..you watch it when I am in the office.When I am at home if you watch it,my head will break.
Purvi smiled with relief:Okay.
Rajvansh was in his office cabin.Purvi rang him up.
RV:Hi Purvi,what is the matter?
Purvi:In the TV show I was watching,the female lead wore a beautiful saree.Will you buy it for me?I checked.It's available in the city shop.
RV:Purvi,don't imitate TV heroines.You are already having so many beautiful clothes.Be happy with them.I have work now.So bye.
Purvi became upset.
Angad's parents Mihir and Tulsi went to Vrinda's house.Tulsi caressed Vrinda.Vrinda touched the feet of Tulsi and Mihir.They blessed her.
Tulsi:My son's selection is good.
Angad and Vrinda smiled at each other.
Seeing Vrinda's mother Malti,Tulsi said:Jai Shree Krishna...I am Tulsi Virani and this is my husband Mihir.Our son and your daughter Vrinda love each other.It will be nice if we get them married.
Malti:You are right.It's our luck that Vrinda got a proposal from such a big family.Angad is a nice boy too.
They all smiled.
Rajvansh and Harsh congratulated Angad.
Rajvansh:Congrats Angad.Your marriage is fixed.
Harsh:Congratulations.
Angad smiled.
RV:But don't dance to your wife's tunes even if she keeps troubling you to buy gifts for her.
Angad:What is wrong in giving gifts to my wife?
RV:It will become their habit and they will keep demanding gifts till the end.
Harsh:Always dominate your wife.Make her obey you.Otherwise she will never listen to you.
Angad was silent.
Angad-Vrinda got married.
The wedding night....
Angad sat close to Vrinda.
Angad:You know Vrinda?I was waiting for this day since a long time.
Vrinda blushed:Me too.
Angad moved closer to her to romance her.
Suddenly she looked at the clock.It was sharp 9PM.
She pushed him and switched on the TV.
The daily soap ''Kya yahi pyar hai?' started.Vrinda was watching it with curiousity.
Angad:I did'nt know that you watch daily soaps.But switch it off Vrinda.This is our first night.This is the time to romance,not to watch a TV show.
Suddenly Vrinda blasted at Angad:Why are you disturbing me Angad?Can't you see that I am watching a TV show?I cannot sacrifice my favourite TV show for our marriage.Don't dare to ask me to not watch it.
Angad was shocked to see her angry face.
Vrinda continued watching the TV serial and Angad slept on the bed.
The next morning Vrinda talked to Angad normally as if nothing bitter happened between them last night.
Vrinda:Angad...you know one thing?On youtube I saw videos about the long running daily soap ''Kya yahi pyar hai?'Most of the women are crazy about this show.They even skip their work and food to watch it.Their only wish is to watch it's climax.I wonder how people can be so senseless when it comes to daily soaps.I feel like laughing.
Angad was stunned.
He thought:If she is against TV serial craze,why did she watch the same TV show yesterday night ignoring me?Why did she raise her a voice against me for a TV show?She behaves as if she does not watch daily soaps.Strange!
