I know it's suppose to be light hearted and all in good humor...and i don't know why i even watch the show when i find it so aggravating it's like i enjoy being frustrated...but the whole chai thing was really annoying to me. when prachin wants chai, then toasty argues in his favor that it's just a cup of chai. when her mom wants it then she gets all quiet and bashful...and hesitates waiting for the permission...which she only manages to get when tej comes in asking for chai. i think it's really pathetic the way she treats her mom who is seriously the best most realistic and loving portrayal of a mom i've seen so far. she's so much like my mom i just hope after marriage i never become like toasty and treat my own mother in such a third class manner when it comes to anything...hate the values this show teaches and absolutely hate toasty's character!

Its not that she doesn't want to get chai for her mom but she doesn't want to give any special treatment to her mom. She doesn't want anyone to say she does everything for her side of the family but not for her husbands. Like her mom would more likely understand anything her daughter does if she can see the happiness behind it but her in-laws might not.

It's called 'making a mountain out of a molehill'...seriously, I don't even see an issue there. It's great that you love your mom and it is unfortunate that you are not able to enjoy SBS in its present form

Just FYI...Pitaji set up the rule for chai after Prachin asked for it and before Sudha came in.

no one would say that.. because since she got married she hasnt dont anything for her parents..
it is all about disrespectful.. .and really cheap from CHEDI's side.. everything has a limit...

obviously this was just suppose to be funny and highight chedi's stinginess...and i thought chedi was really funny...i just hate the way they are showing toasty is all i'm trying to say. I don't think any daughter should have to be such a suck up to her inlaws every second. and never to her own parents who always are there to help her when there's trouble in her inlaws such as the time she was thrown out of the house.

The chai thing is dumb and just a small scene but there are many even bigger scenes where it just gets to be too much. I am all about the ideal daughter in law but i believe in the process you shoudln't stop being the ideal daughter too which i believe toasty has. and it's just annoying to watch even these small scenes that affirm it.

and i know toasty's mom will understand as will any mom. but it's just stupid to me when many times it's not even necesary. it hinkt he men/grooms side should be made to understand things too sometimes. in this scene i agree chedi was just funny and it wasn't a big deal or anything really i just found the depiction of toasty's character to be extremely aggravating and annoying and their depiction of the perfect bahu. it's always expected that the daughter does so much for her inlaws and if she ever does even one simple thing for her own parents she's jumped on for being partial or not loyal, but i have yet to see tej do something for his inlaws and if he were to, the moment he did, his family would jump on him. pashu's dialogues will start, chedi will be unable to speak, and it would be the biggest situation ever and toasty in order to keep peace would be with her inlaws and tell tej stuff like 'kya zaruri thi...mama manage kar lehti...etc etc" in her whiney voice.

i dont believe you understood anything i was trying to say abc111...as i never once said anything about chedi so htere's no reason to defend chedi...i'm just talking about toasty and that i don't like her character in this show as it is too unrealistic for me and these are not the ideals that i believe a girl should be expected to achieve after marriage

groovychica: I don't want to go back and forth on the same issue but would clarify one more time...when I said "Pitaji set up the rule for chai after Prachin asked for it and before Sudha came in." This was not to defend Chedi but to defend Toasty because as per your post, Toasty argued with Pitaji for Prachin's tea but not for her mom's. According to me, she would not have argued for Prachin's tea or might have not hesitated bringing tea for her mom based on when Pitaji announced his chai rule.

As far as your view point of Toasty and how daughters or daughter-in-laws should ideally be, I think that is a personal opinion. I see lot of good qualities in Toasty as do I see in all other characters of SBS (except of course Malti's mom who has no decent bone in her body).
