@ssah Yeah its family dependent...However I have not seen it in any north Indian marriages so far...I have seen many punjabi,marwari,UP, bihari and bengali weddings never saw mangalsutra tying ritual.We do have a dolna tying its a kind of mangalsutra in red thread...Thts also supposed to be worn for few months after the wedding after tht its optional.
