30/5 Dragon Club:The much awaited Condition

I am both satisied and dissatisfied with todays episode ... I am satisfied that Aarti so easily came back into the family. I am dissatisfied that the writers of tthe serial did not take the trouble to show us whether Yash knows the truth of all that his parents did to Aarti, and the writers did not do proper "justice" to the ill-treatment of Aarti.

So the shart itself turned out to be quite and anticlimac, because really things won't be any different for Aarti than when she first came to this house. She was always on probation, her and Ansh, so this whole shart actually works more in her favour than the Sr. Scindias because now Yash is completely aware that his family are ready to criticise Aarti at her slightest slip. The only thing it has changed is his awareness so I am all for it!

More than the shart itself, what really did it for me was the expression on Aarti's face when she agreed to it. I got the feeling that he was willing to fight even for her re-entry without the shart, because deep down he knows it is unfair, but he would have been hesitant to do so because even when his parents are at their most contrary there is a certain limit he doesn't like to cross with them. He had to do it once during the kidnapping and he was all geared up to do it again but by accepting the condition set forth by his father, Aarti paved Yash's way with rose petals and gave him a chance to be the good son he wants to be, despite his undeniable commitment to this marriage. Ah the expression on his face was one of complete sukoon because through Aarti's agreement to his parents, he got the best of both worlds. This put him in an awfully good mood. 😉

SP is ever the shrewd strategist. Today he observed our imaginary line and perceived how he and Gayatri were standing alone behind it. He knows that to maintain his power, he has to at the very least create the illusion that he has his subjects' best interests at heart, and on some level he really does and so does Gayatri. We got to hear SP's logic out loud but not Gayatri's so I am going to voice it for her, "Is Yash's life worth the false picture of domestic felicity that SP seems to be concocting?" To her eyes, Yash is being used both by Aarti and by SP and she naturally feels defensive of her wounded cub but what she continually fails to acknowledge is Yash's own agency and his own power of decision. SP has of course not underestimated any element and has per usual created a win-win situation for himself. If Aarti does not prove herself, he has a promise that she will leave quietly, but if she does prove herself and if she and Yash fall in love, he gets his long sought after pota to bounce on his knee. Win-win!

Vidhi and Aarti were so cute today! I loved their easy camaraderie and I feel like more than Aarti needs an ally in the house, Vidhi needed a friend to laugh and feel light hearted with. It was so heartening to see them smiling and laughing together and when Gayatri came there was a silent sympathy and a strong defense of compliance. Aarti was so cheeky! in one fell swoop she showed Gayatri that Yash and Vidhi, Gaya's strongest ally and her most prozed child, both cared deeply about her. And I think Gayatri also felt insecure about the call to Shobha. She is aware of how much better a mother Shobha is and I am sure the difference is not lost on her. The way she chose to lash back reminded me a lot of the movie Step Mom, where Susan Sarandon tells Julia Roberts that she can't take the daughter to a concert on a week night only to buy the tickets herself! There also Susan was far from a negative character, only insecure about losing what was most important to her. But I loved that in the effort of undermining Aarti, Gaya forgot to be discriminatory to Ansh! I half thought she was going to tell him to go eat his precious Shobha's tava pizza but she didn't and that is probably what hurt Aarti most, when Ansh said that this was better. In the end I am glad she is directing her animosity towards someone her own size, who can handle it. So it works out better for Aarti and Ansh again!

I think Yash felt like he could conquer the world today so was extra super loquacious by his standards and had nice things to say about everyone! If the devil himself had come in front of Yash, he probably would have said, "my, what a lovely shade of red you have on today!" 🤣 So no praise was spared for Paridhi whom he genuinely likes and respects. I loved his bhashan about how much he likes liberated women and how much respect he has for Paridhi's talent and her career. He used words like "talent" and "kaam" and "lagaav." This was so sharply contrasted with SP who used words like "naukri" and "tamasha". I didn't think I could be anymore in love with Yash but that speech had me all warm and melty on the inside. He is a good father and a feminist! ☺️ And back to his conquering the world, he trooped off in all seriousness to talk to his Bauji as though that was the most normal thing in the world. I think this is what freaked Prateek out. Maybe he could have been a little more deliberate about it, but who needs to be deliberate when the world has just been placed at your feet when you thought you had to carry it on your shoulders for the rest of your life? 😎

There is no denying Prateek has a crippling fear of confrontation though. As long as things can go on the way they are with nobody getting hurt, he is happy and that is why he lied to Yash. He wanted the confrontation to be put off as long as possible even when there was someone happy to do his work for him. But that is just not the way things work. Lying about ideas and realities is never a good idea, though lying about incidences can sometimes be helpful.

How cute was the devar-bhabhi bonding?? I love how after this separation this Punarvivah has started becoming less and less different than any other arranged marriage where the couple didn't really know each other. Aarti wasn't offended or shocked at any of Prateek's filmy twists on Yash's state when she left or her own love for him. She was just a little shy and awkward. And it is quite typical for a new bride to make friends with the rest of the family before she really gets into the marital relationship with her husband, as that relationship has so many undefined and subtle nuances and soo much awkwardness in the initial stages. And Aarti wanted to impress her Yashji with a special pizza...mhmm 😉

Finally SP vs Paridhi. These two have never come into close contact before, really as Paridhi has dealt only with Gayatri and it is scary that the first time they do is in this context. It was interesting that SP assumed that nobody in the house could know about Paridhi as they would have stopped her. But again he is going to find that he was the only one in the dark here. What his decision is going to be here will be interesting to watch in the context of what just happened with Aarti. Aarti, though she was disrespectful in her desperation to save Ansh, never deceived anyone (that they know of anyway) while Paridhi has deceived SP and Prateek has deceived SP and Yash. I too think this is going to be Aarti's first role as a member of this household, to make Yash understand that the situation is not black and white and that he can't hold fast to his principles when his brother needs nobody more than him.

Seriously G3 needs to take a page out of Sr Scindia's book while she was there blabbering about how Aarti can't never come back into the house papa Scindia was observing everyone's faces coming up with his own strategy damn that man is too smart for his own good 😆Arrrghhh seriously i hate G3 she knew that aarti was making pizza for the kids and went a bought some the look on Aarti's face 😒 Holy 🤬 PraDi & G3 are is in so much trouble now that Sr Scindia knows that Paridhi has been working & they kept it from him

@Geets: Those were exactly the two I was thinking of, with Waheedaji as the mother/mother figure! But are there any more that I don't know about? Because if that is it, it is pretty pitiful! 😆
