Shruti,

Waiting for your opening on May 27th Episode: Medical Profession and Code of Ethics.

All,

The intentions of the doctors behind the diagnosis and treatment were studied.

People living in India are aware of this problem. Because at one or the other point we all have been subject to unethical treatment from doctors whom we have to trust inspite of distrust. It is pretty common in India and we have in one or the other way fought against this. I have lot of incidents in my mom's clinical history and I am not even in a mood to write it.

Towards today's episode, I only can say, still we all pray to God that we stay healthy and there never arise a need for us to go to doctor. I am really not sure who can protect us from doctors who are indifferent to patient's and family's pain and where else can we go.

  • MCI is supposed to safeguard ethics. But it iself is mired in bureaucracy.
  • Govt itself does not invest in Healthcare and healthcare services. They have not opened any new colleges/institutes inspite of burgeoning population.
  • Honest doctors and pathologists themselves have subject them to a system they dislike in the name of survival. How suffocating for them to practise their profession. My sympathies for them.
My wishes to all aspiring doctors to have courage to follow their ideals and all patients discretion and fortitude to read through a doctor's analysis. I encourage them to research online regarding their symptoms, with regards to possible diagnosis and what kind of medicines they can take and what side effects they can have before actually venturing out to buy the medicines prescribed by the doctor.
