SS:= Apologise {GoHem} part 10/pg37 (updated)

The whole house was fast asleep, despite Gohem nad Anita. Anita had seen Ahem coming down from the terrace and she immediately planned to gain more of his sympathy, she went to the temple of their house and spoke to kahanaji "kanhanji.. what have i done?? why do i always have to gthrough so much pain (cries) why?? (pause) everytime, happiness always crosses passes by me.. i think that, i dont have the right to be happy... (cries)" hearing her cry, Ahem walks to her and says "Anita, are you fine??" she smirks hearing him and turms to face him and wiping her tears she says "yes ahem, am all fine" "then why are you cryingg??" he enquired "what do you think i should do then.. i have nothing to do expect cry.." she says "Anita.. umm.. please.. dont cry.. things will be fine.. dont worry.." Ahem said in consoling tone. Anita looks at him and says "how ahem?? how?? how things are going to be fine?? (pause) you know what ahem, its very easy to say things will be fine, but i know it to myself that things will never be fine.. never again.. (cries) I dont know why, god is punishing me?? what have i done to others?? (pause) i have done nothing bad towards anyone.. then why ahem?? why am i getting punished?? (cries). First, you came in my life, we were so happy with each other. But, one fine day you left all alone (pause) then god sent Nilesh in my life, i was trying to find my happiness with him, but see he too left me all alone (cries and hugs him) am all alone ahem.. all alone, i have noone with me" "Anita.. umm... dont be disheartened (pause) you'l need to fight" anita breaks the hug and says "for what should i fight ahem?? for what.. i aave nothing in my life to figth for.. absolutely nothing..." "you'l need fight for you happiness, Anita" he said. Anita holds his hand in his and says "Ahem, i'l try my best.. i'l my best to fight for my happiness.. but (pause) you're with me , right?? (pause) you'l be with me in this battle???" reluctuantly, Ahem says "yes, anita.. we all are with you (pause) but, you dont be disheartened" hearing this from Ahem, Anita hugs him and says "thank you ahem.. thank you so very much.. you've no idea what it means to me.."

Ahem stood still and didnt hug her back, but Gopi heard him say that all were with Anita and this broke her. Gopi could no longer see them together and she went to their room, with tears rolling down her cheek. Ahem enters their room and realises that he had to apologise to Gopi for his behaviour and moves towards her. Gopi was arranging the couch for ahem and didnt notice that he was in the room, on reaching near her he said "gopi, i want to tell you something" she realises his presence, wiping her tears she turns to face him. Ahem says "Gopi.. woh... am sorr" "ahemjii.. its quite late... (pause) woh.. tomorrow i have to get up early in the morning.. and am really tired.. i think we should go to sleep" she interrupted him and saying this she goes to the bed and sleeps, with her back to him and Ahem is shocked to her see her react like that and with this he realised that he had immensely hurted Gopi this time and sadly goes to sleep, rather tries hard to sleep.

PART TWO

It was the next day, Ahem woke up on his own and found the room empty as usual, he looked at the bed his office clothes were laid down and mentally thanked Gopi for it. Ahem freshen up and went down for breakfast, Jigar seeing him said "bhai.. this yellow shirt is looking too good". Meanwhile, gopi too saw Ahem in that shirt and smiled inwardly, Ahem looking at Gopi said "Thanks Jigar, but this shirt is Gopi's choice" and gives her a smile. Gopi doesnt responds back to his smile and goes back tro the kitchen, this pains Ahem and was visible on his face. With this Ahem realised he has to do something quickly to apologise to Gopi.

The very day, Ahem comes home early, on the pretext of spending time with Gopi and most importantly asking for her forgiveness. The door is opened by Mithi and he heads straight away to the kitchen to find gopi, but to his disappointment Gopi wasnt in the kitchen rather Anita was there. On seeing Anita, Ahem immediately turned to leave, but was stopped in the tracks when Anita called him out, she walked to him and said "Ahem, what a pleasent surprise.. its soo good to see you home so early (pause) you go and freshen up, meanwhile il get your green tea ready" and smiles at him. Ahem gives her an acknowleding look and leaves.

Ahem reaches his room and finds Gopi, who is trying to get down from a stool, but because of her saree she tripped and Ahem held her in his arms, they both shared an eye-lock and slowly Gopi started to blush and smilig, Ahem too was enjoying the promixity between them after so many days. But, their promixity was broken, when they heard Anita saying "Ahem, your green tea" and she entered their room. Ahem reluctantly puts Gopi down and took the the cup from Anita and said "thanks" Anita smiled back to him and gave Gopi a narrow look. Anita started the conversation with Ahem and asked him "how was your day at office today??" he looked at Gopi and said "it was good" "how come, you have come early from office today??" he again glanced at Gopi and said "i had no much work at the office" "you know Ahem, its good you have come home early today (pause) we can spend some time with each other" Anita said, hearing her say this Ahem gives her a questioning look, she diverts by saying "woh.. i meant.. you'l get some time off for yourself and can also spend time with family" he just smiles at her, and she keeps conversating with Ahem. Gopi, took out his dress to change and keeping it on the bed, she leaves the room. Ahem noticed this, he knew Gopi was hurt, he wanted to talk to her and importantly apologise to her, but again circumstances didnt permit him to do it. Ahem could easily read the language of pain which Gopi's eyes spoke and he couldnt see her like that and realised the urgency of fixing things between them, he excused himself from Anita and went to the restroom.

The evening passed with Ahem in his room doing his official work. Anita kept checking on him every 30minutes and this irritated him, as he was expecting Gopi but she didnt turn up even once to their room. Finally, it was the dinner time, Ahem heard the knock on his door and was glad that finally Gopi has come and hurriedly opened the door and was more taken aback to see Anita standing in front of him. Anita said "Ahem, the food is ready. If you're done with your work lets go, everyone's waiting for us (pause) i meant you" he nods a yes and they both go down. Even at the dinning table, Ahem tried to gain Gopi's attention, but failed miserably and on the other hand Anita kept giving him loving looks which bugged him.

Post the dinner, everyone dispersed to their respective rooms. Ahem kept strolling up and down his room, waiting for Gopi anxiously. Finally, he heard her payals near the door of their room and was relieved and he took a breath of relief. Gopi entered the room silently, not making Ahem known of her presence in the room, she took her night saree from the cupboard and placing the water jug on the side table, went to the restroom for change. Meanwhile, Ahem kept looking at her, trying to find an opportunity to talk to her, but Gopi never allowed him to do it. Gopi, came out of the restroom and started arranging her bed, Ahem went up to her and called her saying "Gopi, i want to talk to you" she turns around facing him "jii.. ahemjii". Ahem looked at her in the eyes and said "Gopi.. woh.. whatever happened the other night, am extremely very sorry for that.. i know in my anger i vented out alot on you'l (pause) but, really i dint mean to hurt you.. (sighes) Gopi.. am" "its okay, Ahemjii.. (pause) you dont need to apologise for that night, actually, its me who needs to apologise for not getting involved in the party and for not mingling around with your friend.. am sorry Ahemjii (pause) am extremely sorry.. (pause & sighs) I know Ahemjii, you never meant to hurt me.. in your anger you say alot of things, which maybe you really dont mean it.. am used to it, since the day one of our marriage.. so dont bother yourself much (Gopi looks at the wall clock) Ahemjii... its pretty late now, i think we should sleep, you have to go to the office early tomorrow (sighs) Good Night, Ahemjii" saying this Gopi goes to sleep with her back facing him. On the other hand, Ahem stood still absorbing every word which Gopi spoke and giving her a last look, he drifted to sleep on the couch.
