It started with the lunch at a restaurant . While we have been exasperated for quite a while about the incoherent and arbitrary way in which the script seems to be developed from one episode to another, sometimes the CVs do pull a rabbit out of the hat. Take the lunch, to which Teju drags Purvi, forgetting to tell her that Arjun and Ovi will also be there. We were busy thinking of the best way for Purvi to handle this, and I had voted against her turning a cold shoulder to Arjun as this would look very odd and would raise suspicions. There was even talk of another gentleman coming up and accosting Purvi and thus making Arjun jealous.

In the event, the CVs put the lunch to good use, as some of you might have seen. For the benefit of those who are still to get it, the actual meal goes off smoothly, with Purvi composed and polite, if a little distant (she tries to leave after she sees Arjun there, but Teju squashes it and she stays on).

At the end of the meal, Arjun suddenly tells Ovi he has something important to tell her. Purvi is all ears, wondering if the actually means to come out with the truth in such an inappropriate setting. But Arjun has another and rather clever idea. He asks Ovi how the case is coming along, and once the details are explained by Ovi to Teju, Purvi is saying to herself that this was why Arjun could not talk to Ovi about them at the party. While she is thinking this to herself, Arjun SMSes her "This was the reason why I could not tell Ovi about us at the party. Now do you trust me?" Purvi reads it and then, as she gets up to leave, Arjun says "Don't worry, it will be ok". He is apparently talking to Ovi about the case, but he is looking at Purvi and she knows that he is referring to their problem.

It was quite a neat little trick, and he scene was a great improvement on the earlier planned restaurant scene with Arjun saying "I love you" to Ovi and looking at Purvi. Moreover, Ovi is quite polite to Purvi and invites her to sit down, saying that they have all been waiting just for her.

DK is also going to come back to Mumbai very soon; he seemed dismayed by Manav's talk of fixing the date for the marriage.

Lastly, Punni is getting set to cozy up to Ovi and tell her that Arjun and Purvi are having an affair, which she thinks will make Ovi break off the engagement (she doesn't know Ovi's tenacity at all, evidently). As she is certain that after the engagement, Purvi would not marry Arjun, she dreams of the road being clear for herself. One's breath is taken away by the sheer audacity of the girl, she is truly of the bulldog breed that never lets go!

So there is going to be a race between DK and Punni right now for who is to break the news about Arjun and Purvi to Ovi/ Manav. Let us see who gets there first. At least things are beginning to move in the right direction on the Arjun-Purvi front.

I totally agree with dis... I was truly in despair after that whole engagement junk and the sacrificing each other's love and I really just can't stand how Ovi can't see past Arjun and their "love" 🤢... It made me sick to my stomach while watching those restaurant scenes and stuff... I mean it was like only a day or 2 after Arjun and Purvi had confessed their love for each other. But after watching the promo... (which was also stupid how Archana asks Purvi about who is taking away Ovi's "happiness"... I mean really!?) I am sooo glad that people and cv's are moving on with the story and their lives!
One thing I would like to point out is that if... (and it wont happen...) Ovi were to marry Arjun... They would end up not being happy with each other, Purvi (of course wouldnt be happy but think to herself like her mom... "i sacrificed to make others happy" BLEH! ) wouldn't be happy, Archana would realize how dumb she was being and regret everything, and Manav wouldn't be happy bcuz his daughters aren't happy... (and this would become one of those dreadful tv soaps that makes everyone wanna kill themself... Both in the show... In reality... and for all the viewers who would decide to watch the horror...)
On the other hand... If somehow Arjun knocks some sense into the ones around him and gets people to realize that he loves Purvi and couldn't help the situation he was in... Somehow manages to lead a somewhat happy life with Purvi... (Not discussing how Ovi and her horrid grandmother plot revenge and other junk like that...) everyone would eventually be happy in the end... (like a rea
Tv soap... ; ). Hopefully that's the way it happens...)

A most pertinent question. It reminds me of a 2002 film called Na Tum Jaano Na Hum where the hero and heroine (Hrihtik Roshan and Esha Deol) communicate with each other thru letters left in a mail box in the GPO. The result, predictably , was exactly like a Thomas Hardy novel, with letters getting stuck and/or being missed altogether, thus delaying the happy ending by a good 2 years in time and 45 minutes on the screen.

As for e-mail, it is not secure, and Arjun was probably wise not to use it unless Purvi has a private e-mail address. There is no indication that Purvi works from home and has such a private e-mail account. She seems to exist in a work-related bubble as far as this sort of thing goes, and sending such a private mail to her office address would be very risky. Texting ensures immediate attention and is safer, unless the recipient leaves the mobile lying around unlocked.

Moreover, the younger generation is VERY quick at texting with both hands; I am always awe struck when I see them in operation. I am very slow, and greatly prefer e-mails.

Dear omg11apiz,

If somehow Arjun knocks some sense into the ones around him and gets people to realize that he loves Purvi and couldn't help the situation he was in... Somehow manages to lead a somewhat happy life with Purvi

Amen to that, and I am keeping my fingers so tightly crossed of this to actually come about that they now resemble pretzels!

Dear Archana,

Thanks for the hefty morale upper; these days, I need such booster shots!

I agree completely with the highlighted analysis in your post. She could not possibly have SMSed him back, it would have been too obvious. I too think she left early for precisely the reason you have cited, and I hope that something substantially positive will come of this. Plus, when she got up and left, there was no hint of strain in her face, and her parting greeting 'Bye, everyone" was almost breezy. She was definitely feeling a bit better, the poor girl. My heart went out to her when she cried wretchedly the day before in utter helplessness; this was a welcome change.

I think she could bear anything, even losing Arjun, is she could be sure that he loved her and was true to that love. As I said in my Requiem for AK, it is far more painful to be deceived in love than to lose in love. That is why I can never understand the 'making him/her hate me so that he/she will forget me and go on to the other person" plot device. The hurt for the person at the receiving end of such behaviour, aimed at producing disgust and hatred (in what is believed to be a good cause), is far more than if he/she was told the truth, that their love was genuine, but it would have to be abandoned.

Hi Shyamala,

Thank you for a wonderful post as always my dear...I swear I find myself literally looking for your words of calm, logic and reason a lot these days.
I am indeed glad the episode went the way it did. Yesterday, based on the precap there was so much vicious backlash and wild speculation in the forum- that Arjun was very comfortable with Ovi, and Purvi was going to be subjected to another PDA filled, hurtful scene between the 2 of them with Arjun playing along and suffering silently. I also posted on this and advised that everyone not jump to conclusions.
Not that I blame anyone for assuming the worst given the recent track record. This though was an unexpected ray of hope going into the weekend- one we ARVI fans havent had in a while. Instead of Arjun keeping his mouth shut and going through the motions as usual- and us lamenting Purvi being subjected to another torturous lunch scene where Arjun proves spineless- this time Arjun did take action. He brought up the court case in front of Teju and Purvi to communicate to Purvi the reason why he couldnt say anything at the party.
And she caught on immediately- before he even sent the SMS (as you pointed out). True, she left immediately- but my optimistic nature wonders if this is going to provide Arjun a way to also excuse himself after a decent interval- due to work- so that he meets her in the office- thereby setting up a conversation between the 2 of them. Frankly- again logically, she had no choice but to do what she did. Right after receiving an SMS if she had SMS'd him back (thereby causing his phone to beep), Teju and Ovi would have immediately been suspicious about them trading messages. Also, she couldnt very well continue hanging out there- lunch was over, and they might have tried to make her go shopping or do something else.
By leaving when she did, and the way she did, she gives him an opportunity to follow her shortly afterwards. We know from her conversation to herself that she did end up realizing why Arjun had to keep quiet. And I hope this is an indication that things are going to turn around. 😉

Dear Shyamala

Very nice post, I can feel the scene when reading your detailed analysis on this.

I have mentioned in one of my posts that a same situation ( or behaviour) can be interpreted differently by different person. Like, Arjun's behaviour & attitude towards Ovi can be interpreted from the different point of view. It's all depend on human perception.

Arjun is more concerned about Ovi's sentiment when she will be knowing his relationship with Purvi and presently she is facing some legal problem as well, so that he has not found the right time to talk to her. This seems as love and affection for Ovi.

But, this simply a natural outcome of Arjun's anxiety towards his childhood friend (he is nothing but caring to Ovi)

At the same time, Arjun is ignoring Purvi & scared of announcing their relationship in public - this might be Purvi's thought process.

Now, I am really least bothered about breaching of contract as far as it effects adversely to my loving & cute Arvi. If Ovi has to pay money to control (100 million as per one of your post) the damage in the near future and Arjun decides to support her childhood friend through this legal & mental problem, then I am afraid, If Arjun will ever be in the position of telling the truth to Ovi. (something very negative I have thought😊, this is not possible though).

Otherwise, one possible good effect of the breaching of the contract may be (though I am not clear with the terms & conditions of any contract) is that untill & unless the court case is being solved Ovi will not engage with anyone. So, Arjun can get more time in this phase.

Now, I always say that Arjun has to come forward. if he really scares to hurt Ovi's feeling now, then he should have taken permission from Ovi before proposing Purvi😉

Now for the restaurant scene, I have told in other post that it was quite obvious thing that Tej & Purvi will not be having a lunch date only when Tej is so much attached with her "JIJU" and "Barbee Doll". Purvi should try to avoid the lunch by making thousand of excuses . But feel very sad Arjun's strange but expected attitude towards Purvi.

Lastly, I still do believe, only Arjun can make the situation favorable for themselves , one one else (he has to come forward & fight for his love). DK & Punni may reveal the truth but Arjun has to establish the purity of the truth, dignity of their relationship.
