I do not even have words to express myself. Anything I say will sound shallow in light of your experience. But I CAN say this - do hold your head up high, and chant to yourself I'll survive whenever you feel depressed, pretend even if you have to - to be brave, until it becomes a habit. Most importantly, keep your faith in God. God bless you!

i feel its worse when ur family turns up against u. that maybe their protective instinct towards the other family emmber or the same buas who took care of u when u were a child and then u end up being a 14 yr old liar. and to top it, to be asked ot apologixe ten years later when u r to be married.
well.. it doesnt make me weak regarding the abuse but sure does makes me cringe when the educated lot support the family rather than what is right. thats whats pushing me back even when am over it.

You are not weak. If you are not getting support from family, then don't go looking for their support. There are times in your life when you have to stand for yourself. Hold your head high and march on to next phase of your life without looking back. You have your entire life ahead of you.

Like the poet Robert Frost has said,

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Finally got around to watching the second epi and adding my two cents now...better late than never I guess.

I'm not trying to compare but I felt the first episode made a stronger impact...maybe cuz we didn't know what to expect either...now things are settling into a pattern...you know there's going to be the stories, the expert and finally the song.

Nevertheless the MATERIAL is at the core and that is what matter ultimately...the topic was well tackled from every aspect and the stories of the victims shock you, horrify you, make you cry...especially Harish and the bit with his dog licking his tears or the guy who said he can't forgive God for making him go through this horror in his childhood...

I liked what one of the experts/researchers pointed out about respecting ppl for their ACTIONS rather than just their status in society/family...although it is very difficult to assimilate that within the Indian cultural context cuz we are taught since our childhood to respect our elders, period...it is a western mindset to respect actions/behavior before anything else...Indians are more emotional about these things.

The Sridevi part was the most artificial and not needed bit of the epi to me...a let down in all honesty...cuz firstly she's NOT a warm personality...she sounded rehearsed in her praise for Harish etc. etc...and she gave him autographed DVDs? Umm wow.

Anyways, the overall intent to educate and create awareness was bang on in this epi as well...good job by the SMJ team.

Anu, I felt that too. The detailing was so much more in the first episode but I guess CSA in itself is like that. It is difficult to outline the profiles of the abusers because they are normal people like us and do not exhibit any specific pattern. Not delving into that much detail, however, does not take away from the core material which surely made an impact.

@Simi My friend was saying that the team is working on setting up online voting for people who live out of India, he said it should be resolved soon along with the Video availability of the episodes (apparently there are some IP and copyright issues), let's see.
