Very eloquently put Eveline.😊
My 'constructive criticism' to the CVs is show more self talk and reflection on Khushi's part, otherwise how do we actually know what motivates her to do what she does???
I have been totally confused regarding her intentions behind getting Arnav to the Gupta House, was it to teach a lesson in middle class values, following on from his accusation that the ittar she put on his hanky was cheap??? Was it to show him how 'normal' people live??? was it to get her own back for her ill treatment??? Was it to annoy him so much that he blurts out the reason why he forced her in to the sham marriage??? was it to annoy him so much that he himself tells her to get lost and releases her from the ridiculous marriage contract???
I know why the CVs got them here, to be part of this wedding and make both of them reflect on their predicament, but a little glipmse into Khushi's inner world wouldn't have hurt.
But you are right, the cracks are widening and the walls are crumbling, the masks have started to slip esp when the two are on their own, although they are managing to hold on to their respective personas in front of people.
I strongly believe Khushi is the stronger one of the two and more balanced and well adjusted as well, although what she does often comes across as silly and I have not always agreed with her actions. But can she be blamed, the one person who she was prepared to trust inspite of all her misgivings, goes and pulls the rug from under her feet.
As far as the story goes, my idea of a strong and independent woman may not exactly match the CVs' idea but it is their baby and they have the right to bring up their 'child' which ever way they want to. As long as they dont show her meek and subdued and subjugated its alright.
