Quick little fluffy One Shot story that I came up with while I was trying to write
Hope you all enjoy it ๐
Disclaimer -- Although many of us wish we did, I don't own KESAR or anything to do with the fellow. This is simply my interpretation and something that was bouncing around in my head for a while screaming to get out. I do however own the female character gulaal ๐just kidding ๐
Rated PG to be on the safe side, not that there is anything in here that shouldn't be in here,
ok enough of jokes, coming to the story ๐
gulaal:"Kesar, I want to leave..."
kesar looked over at gulaal strangely. she expected him to protest, but
instead he simply turned and followed her as she walked away. she
felt him placing his hand on the small of her back to lead them out of
the club.
she briefly caught the look of annoyance in his expression.
Once they stepped outside, she breathed in deeply, relieved to be away from the stifling atmosphere of the club.
she let the cool, crisp night air fill her lungs completely before slowly letting out the breath that she didn't realise she had been holding. The horrible stench of sweaty bodies and smoke lingered in her hair.
"Don't you just hate that smell?" kesar asked quietly, crinkling his nose. It never ceased to amaze gulaal how often they were on the same wavelength. It was almost as if he could read her mind.
gulaal:"I know. I'm dying for a shower."
He slowly set off down the footpath away from the club in silence. Now it was her turn to follow him.she could sense him wondering why she had wanted to leave.she didn't have the desire to discuss it.she was afraid of what would come of the discussion.
Instead of heading to the lot where the car was parked, she just kept walking. He seemed to know that she didn't want to go home yet. At this point in time, she just wanted to walk, to be with her best friend. she hooked her arm around kesar's and rested her head onto his shoulder as they strolled along. He looked down at her hands that
were interlinked with his right arm, smiled and placed his own free hand over the both of them. He patted her hands before giving them a tight squeeze. The warmth emanating from his hand over her crept its way through her body.
they ended up walking right up to the foreshore, where the street met the beach. gulaal's feet hit the sand, sinking in slightly. she took her shoes off, and buried her feet in the cool grains of white.she walked along, dragging her feet a little.
she stopped walking and tugged on kesar's arm to get him to stop as well. they stood looking out over the water.
she dropped her shoes to the sand, and crossed her arms to try and protect herself to the coolness of the wind.
The sky was clear and bright, the horizon sprinkled with tiny, glittering stars, almost like diamonds.
Moonlight danced off the waves, illuminating the breaking water with silvery patches. The sound of the ocean seemed to heal her anxiety, dissolving it as the water crashed against the shore.
she barely heard kesar's faint sigh. she turned to him, watching the ocean breeze whipping his hair softly around the edges of his face. His brown curls framing his face perfectly. Even in the diminishing light, his eyes still sparkled with the moonlight.
kesar met gulaal's gaze and smiled his trademark lopsided grin, confusion still lingering in his expression.
Still, he didn't ask her why she had wanted to leave so suddenly. Instead, he started off on one of those random conversations that she enjoy the most.
kesar:"You know what?" he asked.
gulaal:"What?"
kesar:"Of all the places in the world, I'd have to say that the beach is my favourite. But especially the beach at night," he explained.
gulaal:"Which beach?" she questioned.
kesar:"Any beach. It doesn't matter which."
gulaal:"But you must have a favourite. There are a cagillion beaches!" she exclaimed.
kesar:"A cagillion hey... Is that even a word?"
gulaal:"You know what I mean," she replied, smacking him playfully on the arm.
kesar: "Well, i don't have a favorite because every beach has something special about it. Maybe it's the way the moonlight shines off the water, or the way the sand is so hot that you have to walk along the actual water. Or maybe the different sized shells scattered along the sand, or those pebble beaches that massage your feet as you walk. I don't know. There's just always something."
gulaal couldn't respond. she could only stand in awe of his appreciation of the world.kesar has an artist's soul.
Kesar:"You know the best thing though, the one thing that they all have in common?" he continued.
gulaal:"What's that?" The smile on my face matched the one spread across his own.
"They seem to evoke romantic moments out of absolutely everyone. Even the biggest oaf has to feel romantic on the beach."
kesar began to walk off again, his eyes combing the sand. gulaal followed, his searching perplexing her.
He seemed to be looking for something in particular. His expression brightened as his eyes fell upon some treasure. she couldn't see it in the dim light. He leaned over and pulled something from the sand. He held up a large pebble, brushing the sand away as he held it up in the light. It was smooth and clean from years of tumbling in the water as it crashes against the shore.
gulaal's eyes widened as kesar got down on one knee, facing her. He looked up into her surprised expression, his face alight with mischief.
"gulaal," kesar said, the tone of his deep voice sweetly seductive, "will you marry me?"
He held the rock out to her as an offering. she continued to stare at him dumbfounded.
kesar:"C'mon on," he urged. "With a rock this big, you had better say yes!"
gulaal chuckled. Reaching down, she grabbed his wrists and pulled him to his feet.
gulaal:"You are such a nut!"
she took his hand and tugged him along to continue their walk along the shoreline.kesar loosened his grip to then interlace their fingers, as he then slipped the offending rock into the pocket of his waistcoat.
kesar:"Aren't you going to give me an answer?" he pleaded.
gulaal"No."
kesar:"No, you won't give me an answer? Or No, you won't marry me?" He sounded as though he almost didn't want her to respond.
gulaal(considered her answer carefully.): "No I won't give you an answer."
she watched him from the corner of her eye as the smile slowly crept across his face. she turned her face towards him as she gave him a sly wink.
And with that kesar let their hands separate, but side-stepped towards her.He draped his arm loosely over her shoulders and pulled her into him even closer. he felt him kiss the top of her head lightly as they walked along, and she couldn't help but let a grin spread across her lips. they continued walking along the beach, settling into another of their comfortable silences.
