First things first, I am no Raghav fan. Nor am I a hater. Just an honest unbiased third person opinion. So please,please take the time to read it.
Hmm...i read all the posts in this forum but dont usuallly comment that much. I have been reading all the good and bad thats being written about Raghav. People love his unique slo-mo and his innovation. People also think that's the only thing he can do. So here comes my opinion on him.
PROS: See, its a known fact that Raghav is amazingly incredible at the slo -mo. Plus,the innovation he puts into his choreography. Take that 'dil kyun ye mera shor kare' act. SUPER innovative. And Terence said after the act that most of it was raghav's input. Innovation is a much needed quality hugely missing in Bollywood or India in general.
CONS: He is not great at other styles. Infact,pretty average. He tries them...but nothing can match his slo-mo. HUGE CHASM.
But, if you think about it, how many people in India knew that dance could be done in slo-mo and that it could be done so well. I am talking about people who dont have access to english shows,internet etc. He has started a kind of nation-wide phenomenon. People will want to learn to do what he does. Just like Shakti did last season . She was amazing at contemporary and people got so hooked to contemp. Suddenly everybody wanted to do what Shakti did. THAT is what Raghav has done for so many aspiring dancers.
And I know Raghav has been on Chak dhoom dhoom show prior to DID, but none of these shows has the reach that DID has. DID was a good platform for him to bring out this new thing to India.
So bottom line - he has positives,has negatives..but the over all effect = POSITIVE.
P.S : I urge people to read this post without having the fianle winner in mind. Come on, in how many shows do deserving people win(no reference to DID here) ?So,lets all rise above that and be happy that there is a new phenomenon taking this country by storm.
