I have not encountered any such major thing even when in college. but we used to extra careful. Once the bus in which I travelled to college had hardly any people and after a certain distance there were only 5 men including the driver and I still had to go 20 kms or so, that too one stretch is just waste land and fields. May be nothing would have happened, but I was one not to take any risk got down at the immediate next stop and waited for a crowded bus and went late, but better be safe than regret.

Okay so back when I was a stupid teenager I stumbled upon a chatting site under a very famous desi portal ( this was back when I first discovered bollywood and was learning hindi..in short, my first encounter w/ all things India related )
So fortunately I logged onto the chat site using a guest username which wasn't my name but a random name ( little did I know this 'random' name was actually a very famous stripper type name )... when I first went on the site, alot of men asked me my asl as well.. I knew what that was because back then AIM was pretty common and I used that with my close friends and friends of friends... so instead of telling my real age ( 14 at the time, I would tell 16 or 18 ) ...the men would then tell me their age to be 20 - 22 or something ( pshhtt yeah right, I know better now... ) and so we'd chat for 10 - 15 mins about random stuff and one time he asked me to video chat... back then I didn't have a webcam so I thought no potential harm could be done if he couldn't see me ( even if I did have a video cam. I wouldn't have done it on my side ) but anyways, so I accept it on his side where I could see him and lo and behold there was an indecent viewing of his privates ... o m g .. ew..thats all I could think of..I immediately shut off my computer and was scarred for a good bit of time... I didn't bother going back to that site ever but rather told an older friend about it and she went on there to report the incident to the site owner but unfortunately since it is an overseas portal it didn't have a positive response.
Anyways, things like this happen all the time and I am sure in the future it'll only get more and more risky because technology is advancing so far that it is easy to capture videos/pictures and distribute them... and what is worse is that the ones who fall for this are the younger lot of ppl.. like early teens and whatever.. I think its extremely important to inform teens of this ahead of times, and I really do think gumrah is a good show for both parents and teens..its not preachy nor is it too risque.. but it has a good balance where both generations can sit side by side and take something out of it...

other occurances of mine
-When I was in college and had my apartment I use to take the bus home ( it was about 1 mile walk from campus to my apartment so I took the college bus ) .. one day this random guy sat next to me on the bus and told me I looked pretty... akward, right? So I just smiled and thanked him dryly.. and so when my stop came he came off the bus with me.. ( seriously I never saw this guy on the bus before and he def. wasn't a regular on my stop.. ) so then I was def. alerted... he kept commenting behind me to get my attention but I didn't turn around or else it would somewhat invite him to get closer to me.. so I managed to walk not towards my apartment but my apartment building manager's office ( big risk on my part b/c manager was not suppose to be in till later..so I was just betting he'd get scared that I was going somewhere public..)..and that is when he stopped following me and waited on the other side of the street... when I knew I was out of his sight..I ran like hell to the other side where my apartment building was and where he couldn't see me.. I swear to god I was scared as hell that day that he'd come around one day and follow me again.. but I definetly went home on random bus schedules so he couldn't stalk me again and reported to the college police

okay so let me also share my expereience.

I joined this 'very famous' social networking site when I was in class IX n that too because all my friends were using it and I always felt left out when they discussed about it.so I joined d site n gosh dat ws d biggest mistake of my ife.
There was this random guy whom I added ( I ws stupid that tym 2 add unknown guyz ) .We chatted fr lyk two days.and on the third day I was shocked to get a call from him.I didn't know how to react when he said dat " hey I'm dis xyz n can i talk to ..." .
I ws terrified .so i thought of a plan n i answered his call n said I'm her sister n i asked how he had gt d no.He said " tum ladkiyon ka no nikalwana koi bahut badi cheez nahi hoti ".I jst told him if he wud call me again i would give his no to d police.I disconnected d call and unfriended him and deactivated my account. Thankfully i never got ny more calls frm dat no.

After this incident I make sure that I don't add random people particularly boyz.
