Emraan Hashmi is usually associated with brooding, love-sick numbers and rarely with dancefloor hits.
With Jannat 2, he attempts the latter, albeit differently. The actor admits it has been quite the experience. "I was quite hesitant to do it. But, Kunal insisted that the song-and-dance is perfectly in sync with the character that I play ( Sonu Dilli KKC). I have to say that I did enjoy shooting the song (Tera Deedar). I'm doing this kind of a dance on screen after a long time."
Director Kunal Deshmukh says that choreographer Raju Khan came up with the steps keeping Emraan's character in mind. "Sonu has led a hard life and has a rough attitude. He has no qualms about anything in life and dancing on the streets of Delhi comes naturally to him. In the song, he is dreaming about his lady love.
It was keeping these traits and the situation that the steps were designed." Kunal continues, "The album would not be complete without this track. To be fair to Emraan he didn't get enough time to do the rehearsals because the song was added at the nth hour. Worse, we were shooting in the bitter cold winter of Delhi. Nevertheless, Emraan's street flavour moves will charm the audience." Vishesh Films and Fox star studios next Jannat 2 hits theatres on May 4.
