Vidya Balan on World Tour? Please stick to acting!

After the success of The Dirty Picture, Vidya Balan had reportedly hiked her fee and was also said to be getting Rs 75 lakh to perform at each award show.

And now, buzz is that she's not only upped her fee once more, but is also asking for more prominence of her characters in her scripts. However, the biggest turn of events now is that Vidya has apparently bagged her first-ever world tour.

Woman on top
According to an industry source, event organisers, the Moranis are planning a series of shows with the actress. "After hits like The Dirty Picture and Kahaani, she's become a huge star and even overseas, her fan following has increased manifold.

So the logistics of a series of shows with Vidya as the star performer are being worked out. Most of these shows will be in Europe and America, and are scheduled to kick start this October," explained our source, adding that this is the first time in a long while that a tour is being planned for an actress. "Otherwise, it has essentially been actors, all these years," he states.

Musical soiree
Interestingly, the Moranis will also be roping in a popular music composer to go on the world tour with Vidya.

Mohammed Morani adds, "Talks are on for a music composer to be a part of these shows. Vidya is a major star today with back-to-back superhits. And along with a music composer, we can package a nice entertaining show."

Mohammed maintains, "We have done shows with a top actress and a music composer before – Karisma Kapoor and Adnan Sami. Those had been big hits then."

Getting choosy?
Besides this world tour, Vidya herself is aware of the expectations from her movies henceforth.

Keeping this in mind, she has returned a couple of scripts for enhancing her role in the storyline. "And this despite that filmmakers are willing to pay her almost as much as Rs 3 crore per movie.

One of them is even ready to pay her R5 crore," reveals another industry source, adding that more than money, the National Award winning actress is interested in doing quality work.

Overlooking past glitches
Incidentally, the Moranis' world tour with Ranbir Kapoor has got delayed. Reportedly, Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone opted out first and then Shahid Kapoor quit from the same tour schedule because he wasn't too happy being a supporting actor on the 'Ranbir Kapoor World Tour' as it was being hyped up.

The source adds, "Undeterred by things going a little awry with the Ranbir tour, the Moranis are planning a series of shows with Vidya now."

When contacted, Mohammed Morani said, "It's still in the planning stages. Vidya found it a great idea and is very enthusiastic about it. However, we can't confirm anything now as things are still in the pipeline."

Why u dont want her to go

The Moranis from Cineyug are handling the tour,so i think they know their business better than us.I am sure if Vidya's tour wouldn;t be a profitable one,they wouldn't have thought of designing a tour keeping Vidya in mind.

😆 People really will not stick to their own business, but keep on minding everybody else's business, including businesses of Moranis and Vidya.

It's her choice she can do whatever she want.

Bad idea...Vidya is not cut out for stage shows...although she is an awesome actor...but she doesn't have the kind of stage presence that SRK or Priyanka or Shahid kapoor have...I have seen her in the award shows...she is not that witty either...I mean how many times is she going to repeat that entertainment, entertainment wala dialogue...being a good actor doesn't mean that u will be good on stage too...I mean when u have to do a stage show...you need to bind the audience...which u can do either by being a good orator, being a good dancer or by being witty and funny...I doubt she is any of these...so i agree with the TM that she needs to stick with acting...

all the best to her hope she can pull it off .but does she have that many numbers to perform barring TDP and a song in paa which other movies of her have songs that suit stage performances
