I do not understand why people in this forum keep bringing up that Khushi owes Rs 30k to ASR. I think the books are balanced - didn't she work for FREE planning and arranging Arnav-La's engagement and also tolerating his snide comments? Now that I think of it, Arnav is such a cheapskate. He got his engagement party arranged without paying for a planner and got married without any fuss again using Payash wedding party to announce his own. And the list continues...he doesn't bother to spend any money on his wife for a wardrobe. He gives her only what she demands i.e. Rs 300/-...wouldn't have hurt him had he given her a hundred or two more :)
No, I am not complaining that she didn't re-pay. It would have been a nice touch had she thought of it. It would have been consistent with her character, her belief system.
I don't think ASR ever wanted her to either. That was a glimpse of the generous side of Arnav we got to see. I wish they were more consistent in portraying glimpses of their past instead of mindless filler episodes. They have plenty of opportunities to do so especially when one of the leads are on vacation.

@Sari: as others have said, super post chica... thanks for bringing Khushi's motivations up in a new light. I like the idea of an emotionally stunted 8 year old Khushi. And here we thought Arnav was the only emotionally stunted one! 😉
Two things though about 8 year old girls:1. Those that I know seem super put together and none of them would pull stunts like Khushi. Only my nephew who is 2 spits on people and throws pasta on the wall! Khushi's acting out seems more like someone stuck in the terrible twos! 😆 .2) Khushi only seems to act like a petulant child when the show needs comedy --- so the switch in tone and mood seems convenient rather than organic to the character. The thing that's frustrating to me about Khushi is that most times she's so heartbreakingly mature and generous. One of my fave Khushi scenes was during that terrible rona-dhona phase when Sanaya lost her voice. Khushi in bridal attire sits down calmly at Arnav's feet and explains how she's been orphaned all over again. But she's not been accusing and angry - she simply wants to understand why she had to pay such a terrible price. He had to have had a reson to put her thru all that. Sanaya was marvellous in that scene despite her voice being dubbed for. I watch that and then I see the spitting and the yelling and I don't know how it's possible for individual to do such a 180 degree! But then Sari, as I've noted before you're simply a more empathetic (read better) person than I am 😃
But the same issue - Sanaya is good at comedy, so those scenes tend to be thrown in without regard to the growth of the character as a whole ... and without regard to her thought processes about her current situation ...
How I wish Sanaya had had her own voice during that scene you mentioned, it would have made it so much better! Such a beautiful scene that was!
*edited* - I just said what Sari had already said - she said it much better!
