Aryan Khan's directorial debut, 'The Ba***ds of Bollywood', streaming on Netflix, has sparked discussion within the Hindi film industry. The series, featuring Lakshya, Sahher Bambba, Bobby Deol, Raghav Juyal, Anya Singh, Mona Singh, and Manoj Pahwa, explores the struggles of outsiders in Bollywood and satirises its internal politics.

While critics and viewers have generally responded positively to the show's irreverent tone, some in the industry have voiced concerns about its portrayal of Bollywood.

Comedian Sunil Pal has criticised Aryan Khan for presenting Bollywood in a negative light. In a recent podcast with Hindi Rush, Pal said, "The very Bollywood that made your father such a big superstar, you are bad-mouthing it in such a way today." Pal's remarks highlight his discomfort with Khan's decision to lampoon the industry that contributed to Shah Rukh Khan's career.

Despite the sharp humour in the series, none of the celebrities who made cameo appearances, including Shah Rukh Khan, have expressed public offence. The show continues to receive attention for its bold narrative, but Pal's comments have brought a contrasting viewpoint.

Sunil Pal's critique is rooted in the idea that Aryan Khan should respect the industry that established his family's legacy. Pal stated, "Bollywood made your father a superstar." His comments reflect a wider debate about the boundaries of satire within creative fields.

According to Pal, Aryan Khan had significant advantages entering the industry. "Aryan Khan had no dearth of fame, money, or platform. He could have sat at home for five more years and come up with something that even a Sanjay Leela Bhansali would have praised," Pal remarked, suggesting Khan could have chosen a less controversial subject.

'The Ba***ds of Bollywood' follows an outsider's attempt to succeed in the film industry amidst rivalry and politics. The series features ensemble performances and cameos from Bollywood personalities. Its focus on internal challenges has led to both acclaim and controversy.

The series has been praised by critics for its bold depiction of Bollywood's inner workings and willingness to address contentious themes. Many fans have responded positively, appreciating the show's humour and candid tone. However, Pal's criticism highlights that not all reactions within the industry have been favourable.
