Possessive Ahem could not bear seeing his wife being soulless towards him, be it not having any eye contact with him when he asked her to take out his clothing to wear to when he was around her. She continued to make him feel disconcerted by her behaviour.
In their bedroom his mind triggered when she asked him what he wanted to wear as she never did so before. Making him to take her by her hand, like he did the previous day at the mandir and accepted that he should not have done so. This brought on a smile on which he enjoyed every bit of as this is the Gopi he wants to see and have around him.
He had unconsciously worked on redeeming himself thereafter. He smartly caught her attention through his short sentences, him approaching her and his body language. He achieved a second smile from her.
He asked for a second cup of green tea which she made. When the cup fell and broke, he apologised immediately taking the blame and attempted to pick up the pieces but in the process cut his finger. He was amazed at him as to how quickly she responded to making him feel better by taking hold of his finger and wiping off his oozing blood with the end of her pallu, and went on to nurse his wound.
He looked on at her thinking of why she suddenly distanced herself from him but when he got hurt she was there healing him. She knew that she still cared for him but there was something else bothering her, but what?
So Ahem is not heartless as today he had shown a considerate and loving Ahem towards his wife. Again as she was going away he called out for and this time with desperation he caught her hand. He wanted to see her smile. He wanted to see his happy Gopi who would do anything with devotion for him.
Gopi's real kanaji is alive and kicking for sure. He just needs to figure out what actually happened to him. Will he be able to join the dots for how he spent the the Holi afternoon while he is at the office?

* he looked so dapper in his new black suit and a yellow shirt which complimented him very well.
