Scindia, Scindia, he's our man,
If Aarti won't take him, we sure can! π
Scindia, Scindia, he's the best,
Why won't Mansi give it a rest?
Scindia, Scindia, in a towel,
Aarti, stop pretending you find that foul!
Nanga Scindia locked in a room,
A breathless chorus, VA-VA-VOOM! βΊοΈ
Scindia, Scindia, spit it out,
We're getting sick of Aarti's pout!
Anyway on to that serious analysis that I promised, although considering how hilarious today's episode was, I can't really promise anything in earnest! π
I feel so bad for Gayatri. She is going to have her hands full trying to torture BOTH her bahus at the same time. She hardly has time to make passive aggressive, veiled insults to one when the other commits a much more grave offense. I loved the fact that they tricked us today with the precap from Friday where it looked like Gayatri was complaining about Aarti. I was glad to see the balance in problems between both dulhans which makes the story much more complex. I also love how Khanna stepped in to ease the tension about the lack of guests on Aarti's side. That was very sweet of him and his jovial nature came in handy. This is what I wanted to see between the families.
I loved the contrast between Paridhi looking for Prateek and Aarti looking for Ansh. It shows how different their priorities are, both in general and for marriage. And again we see someone trying to make Aarti's situation out to be normal, similar to what Mansi goes overboard doing. When the bua stepped in, I kind of freaked out but it also made me think. Which one is preferable to someone like Aarti? People like Mansi, Paridhi and Prateek trying to pretend like this is a normal wedding for her or people like the Bua who unabashedly state the truth? I mean on some level though it was humiliating I feel like it might have been a relief to Aarti to have someone voice this.
OMG the Bua is so good! She was onscreen for a mere 20-30 seconds but her monologue nearly drove me to tears. I could sense her tragedy and taste her bitterness. It made her not a straight up vamp but a tragic figure whose only means of getting attention is to say these extremely difficult things and make people aware of her presence. Ah that bitterness was so palpable! ππ
Oh and now to THAT scene. βΊοΈ
It is symbolic that Aarti is doing this for Ansh and he was the one to lock her in the room. This shows that he is the one locking Aarti and Yash in this relationship and Aarti is clear to Yash about that even here when she blurts out what happened, but yet again Yash is unable to get his thoughts across as she catches him in an especially vulnerable position.
Jyo, even I thought the shaving was a little inside joke between GC and his fans as he knows the stubble is a subject of controversy. But I nearly choked when I saw him! He looked so wonderful and so unassuming which was perfect for his reaction in this scene. He is conscious that he is half-naked but also not conscious of how good he looks which makes him even hotter. And even Aarti could not take her eyes off of him for a good ten seconds.
But after I got over hyperventilating, I realised something important about that scene. As long as Yash acts before speaking, he will never be able to clarify things with Aarti. His actions alone are not enough as they will always be misinterpreted. If he had just said, pass my coat, or I am going to get my coat, it would have made the situation a whole lot easier and would have made Aarti much less awkward and well, petrified (can I add though that KS has gorgeous hair!). So until he speaks up and Aarti hears him out, they will never get out of this vicious cycle of misunderstanding.
OMG! Prateek's expression when he opened the door! π€£ The shock slowly turning into a knowing smirk and then the song, the song! And the best part was how Yash became aware once again of his bare body and tried to cover it suddenly with his arms. That reaction from GC was immaculate comic timing as was the point where he was trying to get Aarti to listen to him and the panic-stricken motor-mouth wouldn't let him get a word in edgewise. π I don't understand why he always tries to talk to her AFTER her misunderstanding has reached a new level. Maybe the desperation gives him courage?
Finally, the scene between the three bahus was adorable! Vidhi is such a maternal figure and sees her devranis as her babies sort of. This and her line about how Gayatri is lost without her makes me wonder if she will start getting insecure when she is no longer the only one Gayatri relies on as she seems to have gotten used to that role in the family and seems to be quite proud of it! But for now I like that she is helping Aarti bring out her more feminine side. Of course that is not to say Aarti isn't fine the way she is, but a little more make-up for special occasions is always a nice change.
Ok I am kind of loving this Bua and her sarcastic jibes. She is just so interesting and entertaining and the corporeal reality check of the Scindia's idyllic image of their own family. She is the constant reminder that they are not perfect as they would like to believe and the keeper of their darkest truths. I really look forward to more of her.
Precap: It is too literal not to believe! π²
