What a mad week this has been! This rumour has caught on like wild fire," says Bipasha, a tad tired by the buzz about trouble in her relationship with John Abraham.
And now, she has decided not to talk about her relationships. "It took me 10 years in the industry to realise that I shouldn't have done so. John and I are both very happy together. The world should stop worrying about us. We don't need to prove anything to anybody. What hurts me is that unlike many others, we have been open about our relationship, and are now paying for it."
Bipasha goes on to reveal how she maintains her cool in the face of crises. "Ours is a genuine relationship. Earlier, I would have let these rumours die down naturally. But this time I'm not going to take it lying down," she says.
One wonders whether there is any hidden agenda behind people wanting to spread these rumours. "Honestly speaking, I don't know why people have painted this bechari image of mine. Excuse me. I hate becharis. I have put in a lot of hard work and energy to get where I am and I don't want to ride on any sympathy wave," she clarifies.
But yes, Bips too is slightly intrigued by the timing of such rumours floating in the industry. "I don't have any proof and hence, I can't say for sure that my relationship is being used as a bait. After all, haven't we seen linkups and split stories in the industry circulating just before the release of a film? Whenever stars go on a world tour, there are so many rumours circulating. Why do you think that happens? There are people who just love to spread such news only to ensure that the world tour news is in circulation."
But none of these rumours, she insists, are going to make her weak. "John is a handsome guy and will have female fans. But how can people spread such rumours about him loving female company because of his hunk status? I was telling John the other day that there are people trying to pull him down but this too shall pass. As for me, I have a very loving man and all these rumours won't make our relationship weak." And what about Mallika Sherawat's name being dragged into this controversy? "I don't care. All I'm interested is my work. I've been cool till now but now I'm going to be stern," she says.
