Part Twelve

Udayveer went do his morning workout. He returned to see Manyata struggling with her doris.

He smiled softly.

"Manyata choro do, hum kare dete hain," he said softly.

She smiled to herself.

Today instead of stiffening or getting nervous as he came closer to her, she relished it. He ran a finger on her scar and moved her hair out of the way. He worked quickly and tied her doris. His fingers trailed down from her shoulder to her waist. He placed his chin on her shoulder and wrapped his strong firm arms around her waist. He was amazed how she sank into them like she used to before the incident. Was she getting comfortable with him again or had she remembered everything?

"Tum hamesha aisi hi karto ho," she whispered.

Then she looked wide eyed at the mirror.

"Oh teri yeh maine kya bol diya? I was supposed to tell him tonight. Ab main kya karongi?," she thought to herself.

She pulled away from him quickly.

" I am sorry. You should go shower," she stammered.

He grabbed her wrist.

She stiffened. He realized she had not remembered. She was still not fully at ease with him that was what it seemed like.

"Theek hai Manyata. Hum abhi aate hain," he said softly.

Manyata felt guilty but she wanted to surprise him later.

They were eating breakfast with Unnati and Giriraj when Udayveer got a call from the police station. They needed them to give their statements.

" Manyata if you don't want to go there, I can try to get them to come here for your statement," Udayveer stated.

She shook her head.

"Nahin main aap ke saath police station jari hoon. I want to confirm something. Only Akash can confirm the suspicion I have," she declared firmly.

"Theek hai phir tum chalo humare saath," he relented.

They walked in together.. The inspector she recognized as he had arrested Murari in the past and Akash as well. She nodded to him as meeting him for the first time. The statements were written and filed. Manyata requested the officer to come with her and show her Akash's cell.

Udayveer was stunned. She gave him an assuring glance by closing and opening her eyelids.

She approached the cell and looked at Akash fiercely.

"Monia you came here. That means you believe me now. You realize now that Udayveer brainwashed you into leaving me that time right?," Akash inquired.

" I just want the answers to my questions. Is that clear?," she stated.

"Yes Monia. Tell me what you want to know. You shouldn't stay with him," Akash said.

She wanted to roll her eyes at him. She knew pretty much everything now. Yes she had been upset with Udayveer at first but she grew to love him and realized Akash had been her infatuation.

"Inspector Saab please open the cell," she requested.

"Rajukumari lekin.."

" It's all right. I can deal with him," she stated.

The inspector reluctantly opened the cell.

Akash slowly approached her.

"Stop there until you answer my questions," she barked.

Akash was a bit taken aback.

"Bolo Monia," he said.

" Did you arrange for those goons to attack us on our way back from Jaighar?," she inquired.

Akash paused.

"I am waiting for an answer. Also how did you know our plans to return on that route?," she asked.

"Look Monia, I knew he had gotten you by his tricks. I wanted you to be safe and not have to be stuck under his thumb all your life. I thought now I have money so I can support you. I hired some men and they followed you and Udayveer that day. Honestly didn't want you to get hurt," he stated.

She crossed her arms and indicated to the inspector he could lock him up again.

'"Monia please tell them to let me go. I have a business to run,"Akash said.

She looked at him sharply.

" You should have thought about that before attempted my husband's murder twice. Take him away please," she declared.

They locked him up.

Udayveer came to see what had happened.

" Chalo Manyata," he looked at Akash angrily.

" Don't you dare bother us again Akash," he scoffed as he placed his hand on Manyata's.

"Monia how can you trust him. I did it all for your benefit," he yelled.

"Nahin. You did whatever you felt like for yourself. Manyata lost her memory and you kept stalking her. She is already confused and you kept disturbing her. Now here is where you will stay Akash Verma," Udayveer declared.

Akash noticed the smirk Manyata gave him. It was sinister like whenever Udayveer won against him he would give him the same smirk.

Her expression changed to a innocent one. She grasped Udayveer's hand and they left together.
