Bilkul - 100% agree with you! Actually i found it strange that people would compare because to me Yash is so very different from MSK and I just was thinking ki that is Gurmeet's skill as an actor that i don't really see any of his characters in any others.

Just think of MSK's walk - it was so distictive to him that the walk alone could make him known to you even he was in shadow. Yash's walk is completely differeent - more soft and more humble like a man who has been beaten by sadness. It is that knd of detail i think makes an actor so good - that he thinks through everything about what the person would be like.

GC himself said it took him while to get used to essaying the role of Sri Ram and then he was able to become comfortable. I think it must be the same with any new character that he would continue to be finding different little details about the personalit as the days go by. The shades of Yash's charcter will surely deepen as GC gets more and more sense of who Yash is.

I hope people would just relax and enjoy how good the show is - actors as good as the ones they have chosen can only do a great job from first day - and will get better and better as show goes on.
For me it is always a joy to watch him in whatever role.

@Bhakti2: I wish I could like your comment a 100 times over...seriously you just worded everything that was going on in my head as I read this post and all the comments on it!

GC is really such a wonderfully versatile actor, that every role he takes up, he completely blends into the flesh of his character, and makes it so very different from his previous ones. I have actually been catching up with Geet and watching PV at the same time, and I was sure this would cause he serious problems in differentiating between the two characters, but right from the start it was very, very easy to notice the differences. Starting from the looks, to the expressions, everything is different, and like so many others have already said, he can't exactly change the way his eyes or or the way he speaks, those qualities are unique to him and can't be changed just because he's playing a different character. But in every other aspect, Maan and Yash can't be more different than each other, and this is exactly why GC immediately too this role. He said it was different than anything he had ever done, and it would allow him to explore his talent in a completely different dimension, and we're already getting to see that from him.

As for all the backlash his new look is getting, I personally don't understand it because I think he looks really great. That change was necessary not just for the audience who are still obviously on their Geet high, but also for Gurmeet himself. He wanted this change, because like he said in one of the segments, that when he looks back at his career, he wants to be able to tell just from pictures that which character was which. Plus this very light stubble and shorter hair look suits his character, which has obviously suffered a whole different kind of pain and tragedy, and despite barely having any dialogues, Gurmeet is doing a fabulous job just through his expressions, and I for one can't wait to see how the character of Yash is further developed :)

Ria,

I agree. i personally do not see even any MSK in Yash. the pose of standing of msk was very different than Yash. even the anger/bitterness of MSK is very different the way GC is showing for Yash.

however, i do not think we should be going back and forth between MSK and Yash
Geet and MSJ portrayal is over. Now this is a new serial and Yash is a different character, so we should just enjoy this.

I agree Yash and MSK are 2 different characters. The body language, the dress sense, the hair style, the expressions, etc etc...everything is different...just the person who plays Yash and played MSK is the same😆😆😆 warna sub kuch alag hai😛

Love you Gurmeet...you rock👏👏

Most needed post dear. I agree with u. MSK is guru's legendary character so everyone under its effect trying to find MSK in yash.
Bt one more truth is that guru cant change his physical features after all. He cant change his dreamy eyes, his sexy voice, his most beautiful hands, his tempting lips, his tiger walk and many more which cant b exactly explained...
I donot find any similarity in the two. . Koi unke aaspaas bhi nahi hai acting mein. I never thought that someday fingers wil b pointed out on his acting... Its just 1 week. There r lots of variations to come in yash..

I agree both of u..u both said all that I want..
Gurmeet works with minor details..Even from first scene I have also noticed change in his walk...
..he is alone, sad and very concern about his daughters...that all reflects from his eyes...
For me MSK, Ram and Yash are 3 different characters...
