Actor Rupal Patel on Gujarati theatre and her telly endeavors

Apart from her strong role (as Kokila Modi) in the TRP tripper Saath Nibhaana Saathiya,Rupal Patel is also noted for her long bindis and a lot of eye make-up on screen.However,Patel,who was in Vadodara for a promotional activity,says that she is very different in real life as far as looks are concerned,I dont use any make-up in real life,nor do I sport bindis.However,I relate a lot to my character in Saath Nibhaana Saathiya because I share a lot of Kokilas character traits as a person too.And I laugh a lot in real life.Once I start laughing,I find it difficult to control myself.I am very young at heart.In fact,I feel as if I am a 16 year old!
Patel,who has done a lot of Gujarati theatre,says that being a part of the popular Gujarati serial Sau Dada Sasuna helped her immensely in evolving as an actress.I am very proud that I did that serial.It was a really lovable show and playing the lead in it taught me how to carry a show on my own shoulders.I had never imagined that the show will become so successful.Even today,whenever I come to Gujarat,a lot of people still compliment me for that show, she says.
Patel,who got her training from the National School of Drama feels that its better to have some training before getting started,It always helps.Today,many youngsters aim at short-term success and thats why they remain one-serial wonders.However,I have seen many who are really eager to learn as well,which is heartening.
What does she have to say about the state of Gujarati theatre Says Patel,When I was doing Gujarati plays,the theatre scenario used to be very vibrant.While I am still actively involved with childrens theatre,I dont have much idea about the state of Gujarati theatre or films now.Sometimes,budget is an issue when it comes to Gujarati films.From what I have seen,better storylines are needed for both Gujarati films and plays.
