I am disillusioned. I begrudgingly watched Indian television, to remind me of home. I was incredibly home sick for anything Indian, as living in England for the last decade has taken its toll on me. So imagine my surprise, nay joyous surprise to stumble on a show that I actually enjoyed watching. A believable story line, a credible cast (most of them from Delhi), set in my beloved Delhi, A Mills &Boons feel, a believable story.. or did I already say that...!!!

Well I take it back!

I'm now struggling to relate.

How can a man, who, not 2 hours ago (according to the timeline in the series) was trying to declare his heartfelt love to the woman of his dreams, suddenly get so bitter towards her.

I could have a rant.

I could point out the many inconsistencies of how their "unparalleled love story" is flawed with the lack of trust.. But I am sure most of us who agree with my point of view would have discerned that on their own merit.

Of course I am not giving up on the show (yet)! The cast of the show have held their own, and it does secretly help that Barun is soo fanciable that a whole episode could be watched purely for the sinful pleasure of drooling over him. The story line can be incidental.

But it begs to be pointed out that, all said and done, if it were love, if they were as connected as they are portrayed to be, then trust is an essential ingredient, without trust, there is NO LOVE!

There I have had my rant for today! Thank you for reading.. and your patience.

Like and comment if you will, It will be appreciated!

Join the club of disillusioned immigrants trying to find a piece of home through television serials. Hello, my name is Smriti.

We dont count towards their rating generating machinery and are consistently and conscientiously avoided by the production house, directors and creative writers.

Lets wear black tomorrow to mourn the end of a lovely era in IPK. Lets hope they find their lost charm and redeem themselves soon.

Trust is not given, it is earned! which is what they are doing, he loves her, but feels betrayed coz of the misunderstanding that she loves shyam back!

wow you have spoken my mind!!!!
The very question that has been rotating in my head - this so called love between arnave-khushi - where is it?
Where is the trust?!!!!
There is no love without trust. Damn. the indian tv show creatives seriously do not know what love is.
All they show is a skewed form of love which has NO TRUST involved whatsoever!! 🤢
Disgusting.

Hello Smriti

I am glad I am not bearing the cross of the undermined immigrant community alone! I do feel the need to have Star plus in the background most of the times just to keep reminding myself of where I come from and the familiar sensation of listening to people talk in Hindi. Some habits become addictions and unfortunately, in the case of Me vs., Indian Serials, I am trying to find rationale in something that is purely aimed at generating Viewership (at any cost), ergo the blooming advertisement breaks after every scene, the episode only moving about 3 paces at any given time.. and such incongruities. But I'll be darned if I will sit here and let them rot my mind with such incredulous rubbish! I love watching the programme, like any other fan I want to see the chemistry between them and a healthy wooing stage, but I cannot come to terms with the irrational emotional violence in these episodes.

And seeing as we are on first name basis, I am called Divya, when pronounced correctly J

I totally understand your point but like some1 commented before trust is earned, I believe that as the show progresses Arnav would be able to trust khushi, so far Arnav is portrayed to only ever trust his sister. And for him to see the women he loves in the arms of his sisters husband is a shocker! Love is a learning experience he will gradually understand what makes two very different people (yet so similar) to trust and love one another unconditionally. He needs to gain trust and respect, they both need to understand the fundermentals to a healthy relationship, so far they have only realised what love is now they need to build up on that with trust, understanding, friendship and companionship, it's about discovering and strengthening what they already have. I don't think a perfect relationship exists relationships need time to develop and this track I'm hoping will help strengthen their relationship. So they will be equals in every single way, and thier love will only ever grow and grow! :D

yea but thats the thing right!! They are trying to show that trust is something thats earned gradually, after what all ASR has gone through, he doesn't trust anyone easily! Yeah he developed feelings for Khushi but when he came to know ab Shyam, he was shattered, he doesn't know what we all know!!
He is bound to be heart broken and react with rage and anger!!!
This track is to show the importance of trust in love or any relationship!! if you read Gul Khan's interview on rungmunch.tv, you will realize what they are trying to show!! They aint gonna trust each other over night, Khushi is gonna have to earn it all over again!!

Lets just enjoyy whats next!!

Lol Of course England isn't that bad! I'm not comparing my experience with anything! I am just evaluating the success of my tryst here with the fact that i have No memories of my life (as it was in Delhi) here! I struggle to find someone to speak Hindi in and it really gets my goat, because of late, I struggle to find the right words in Hindi , when I do!

I just get very nostalgic when I see the landscape in the serial. Ergo I try to relate, and then they go and do this to the story line!
