Hey Divya ... Ola SJ ... nice to see a shift, however, small against the tidal wave of the current warped storyline being dished out as refreshing, intense, passionate love story. I, too, like you watch SP cause of my appreciation of my culture and roots. I knew certain sacrifices were to be made when watching Hindi serials ... like logic, continuity, polish etc but seriously one has got to draw the line somewhere ... what irks me is that call spade a spade ... IPKKND touted itself to be cutting edge, I bought into that mostly because of the leads ... but to hook and reel to you in and then to present this travesty! seriously how is hodge podging stories from the likes of Kitani Mohabbat Hai, with the hint of Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain presenting something never been done before? Don't get me' wrong I love the leads and it's pretty much the only tenuous link that's anchoring me' to this show ... but it is thin ice the CVs are treading. My second crib is the socialogical conotations to the whole a man has to be aggressive, mean, overbearing not to mention verging on physical abuse to be worthy of being the swoony hero ... I'm flabbergasted at how this is being lapped up and lauded ... makes wonder how can ppl want this ? This isn't what a real or healthy relationship is based on ? So many ppl are saying oh Asr saved khushi from Shyam ... like huh? How? Or now trust is going to build ... huh? How? In what universe does close proximity to a person who dislikes you a foundation to building trust ? The more I was reading on this forum the greater my doubt as to what relationships are like in India ... has there been any progress on the empowerment of women ? Seems unlikely especially where ppl are loosely throwing the word rape around ... I literally gaped when I saw that not one or two ... but multiple you've on this were flinging around ... With little or no regard got what horrors are associated with that one word for thousands of victims who have suffered this brutalisation! ... Sorry the post is getting a bit too heavy ... I'll end it here ... and apologies for the preachy narrative. Peace out x

I just get very nostalgic when I see the landscape in the serial. Ergo I try to relate, and then they go and do this to the story line!

Take a trip to southall, tooting or green street in London ... You'll get your fix of both Hindi and some desi landscaping 😃

I would have loved to see a stronger Khushi call Arnav's bluff. Better yet, a united front from both the sisters against this madness. Where is the Payal who said "let them break the relationship"?

There are just so many things that I can't fathom with this track!

you're right it's almost like suddenly everyone collectively lost their spine and turned mealy mouthed. When writing the screenplay the writers need to ensure that in giving prominence to one is not at the sacrifice of the other characters ... every character should 've used effectively to propel the story forward ... not how they're currently doing it ie using the actors in rotation it's almost like the writers can't multitask whilst penning ...

I am glad I am not bearing the cross of the undermined immigrant community alone! I do feel the need to have Star plus in the background most of the times just to keep reminding myself of where I come from and the familiar sensation of listening to people talk in Hindi. Some habits become addictions and unfortunately, in the case of Me vs., Indian Serials, I am trying to find rationale in something that is purely aimed at generating Viewership (at any cost), ergo the blooming advertisement breaks after every scene, the episode only moving about 3 paces at any given time.. and such incongruities. But I'll be darned if I will sit here and let them rot my mind with such incredulous rubbish! I love watching the programme, like any other fan I want to see the chemistry between them and a healthy wooing stage, but I cannot come to terms with the irrational emotional violence in these episodes.

And seeing as we are on first name basis, I am called Divya, when pronounced correctly J

Me 3! I think there are way way more of us than just us 3 but no matter how many..no we shall not let them rot our minds! I do feel bad about all the ...esp young girls minds being rotted back in india though btw my name is khushee...really!! one of the reasons i started watching this serial!

Hi Divya ...J...Dont worry i think the migrant pop is well represented here...
Trust is impp in a relationship which love is also an ingredient (me thinks)...give his due ASR was just breaking down his so far tightly held walls and the first flimsy reason to nagate this action is what his mind was seeking for and recieved...so I think the anguish is also sel loathing for being foolish enough to fall for her...
A creative team that was able to rally such a phenomena...should be able to carry it thru remebering that this is a figment of THEIR immagination lets give it time ...to see whats on the cards...
Also you cant please all of the people all of the time...dollars (or should i say rs and paise) and cents rules the market this is commercial telly...

This couple is still in the development stages of their love story... The trust doesn't just miraculously appear. And even if Arnav had trusted Khushi prior to the terrace scene, his eyes and ears told him something quite different. Anyone would have been thrown for a loop. I'm not saying this whole forced marriage thing was a good idea or anything, but when you talk about trust and believability then you need to put yourself in the poor guys shoes. He just witnessed the woman he loves in his brother-in-law's arms. His sister has been his lifeline for the last 10/15 odd years and then he hears Khushi tell the Creep to leave his wife. He obviously reacted first and will think later, like any person in that situation would. It's definitely got to be a huge shock to overcome... 😲
This poor guy's sister gets into an accident, his brother-in-law has lied about his love for Anjali and has been creepin' around on her, the love of his life is 'supposedly' creepin' around w/ his married brother-in-law, and now his sister is preggers... That's waaay too much for any 1 person to digest. I would have been a mess with any 1 of those situations, but this poor guy has to deal with all of them at the same time. So I don't see why the credibility of the show would be questioned. 😕
I don't watch this show to remind me of India since I've only been there a few times in my life, but I do watch for a variety of other reasons. I tune in b/c I adore the characters, I enjoy the acting, and most importantly I'm captivated by the overall story. I don't think it's lost it's appeal at all. I will happily keep tuning-in until it causes disillusionment in my own life... 😊
