Kokila has made Ahem into the man she wanted her husband to be. She was so disappointed at how Parag turned out to be that she made sure Ahem would be different. I understand all that. What I don't understand is what the big deal is if Jigar becomes that man too. The problem became big when Jigar gave the presentation instead of Ahem. Kokila didn't like the fact Jigar was getting the praise, yet she has mentioned before how she treats them both equal and she made Jigar a sweater for his trip. Kokila wants Ahem to be a big successful man in the business world, then why get him married? Why make him a husband but not let him be a husband? She has to understand that Gopi is not like her, Gopi don't care how much money he brings into the household or where his status is in the business world, as long as he provides for the WHOLE family. Kokila has to stop living her life through her son. Ahem was thinking like Kokila until Gopi told him otherwise. Ahem wouldn't interfere in Jigar's personal life until Gopi said "It's your family too." Someone needs to say that to Kokila.

I think Koki's reasoning is that if Jiger becomes a hot shot businessman then Chiarg might relie on Jigger more as that is his own son, or maybe take him under his wing since Jiger has finally taken interest in the family business. The more powerful Jiger becomes the less powerful Ahem will become. Up until now Jiger has been the slacker and Ahem the prodigee so Ahem was obviously next to take over but if Jiger starts rising up then it effects Ahem. A single boss has more power then two bosses since they'd have to split up the responsibilities and work.
She may treat them as equals and care for Jiger but up until now Jiger has not been a threat to her Ahem and her dreams for him. She obviously wants more for her own son. She's a women who strives for power and prestige and didn't get any of it since her husband was a bum and instead is given an allowance by Ahem. I think her and Rashi relate in this way, since they are both so focused on status and power.
As for the why did Koki get Ahem married to Gopi I think it has to do with how naive Gopi is. Gopi isn't a threat to Koki since she doesn't have a scheming or greedy bone in her body. Maybe Koki chose Gopi so that Gopi couldn't turn Ahem against Koki and she could still get money and respect through Ahem. Koki rules Ahem and Ahem is pretty much the head of the empire so in some sick way she's kind of like the hidden CEO or something. She didn't gain any prestige by being Paraj's wife but shes definetely gained some as Ahem's mother, but if Ahem starts slacking off and more concerned with family instead of work she looses that too.

@Ruby

I liked it that you said she's the hidden CEO...it's so true. 😆 It reminded me of in My Big Fat Greek Wedding, the mom says that the man might be the head of the household, but the woman is the neck which turns that head. In this case, Koki is Ahem's neck. 😲

Everyone of you made a valid point. Koki may have wanted Ahem to be better than Parag...but the question still remains...when will she draw the line between her son and his personal life. It seems at this point even if Ahem wanted to confess his love then she would want him to ask her permission. Forget SR. Koki would have a heart attack at the mention of those two words or those initials...Have I mentioned I hate Kagdi?😡

I hope that the confession scene won't be anywhere near the MM or Koki. That house has some terrible memories for Gohem.

but a person like rashi deserves only punishment not help
gopi must understand that to mind her own work and not interfere in others couple life though her intention is to help or watever
she must concentrate on her husband and on her family first then she can thinkof others

@ RachP My Big Fat Greek Wedding was EXACTLY what I had in mind when I was writing that 😆
@ Dhabu89 I dont think Koki ever will make that distinction. She's textbook type-A personality and a control freak. She loves Ahem obviously but he and Gopi are pawns in the grand scheme of things. Or it could be fueled by her insecurities and fears and that Ahem is becoming like his father. Its not about Gohem falling in love, their marriage is a contract and a means to an end
Sorry to all the Koki fans out there!! I still think she's a great character with a sound moral core and a nice person and she is a heck of a lot better then Urmila/ Kurmila/ What-ever-that-vile-women-is-calling-herself-today.

Great take on the situation! :)

Im just thinking, What if Koki is worried Jigar will turn into a successful buisness man and Ahem will become ignored in Chirag's eyes?

I think Koki is INDIRECTLY (Do not bash me for this! 😉) Only in for the money, property and status yet at the same time she isn't if that makes sense!

The whole Kokila/Jigar issue can be explained that Aham was helping Rashi for Jigar to reconcile with Rashi again, also she didn't like that Aham who was the hard working one is now homely and Jigar is the hardworking one, she was enjoying it when Aham was taunting Jigar and herself would make sly pot shots at Jigar, so all of a sudden Jigar is shown as competent to present information to a client and win business, she just couldn't handle it, because in her mind, Aham should always be better then Jigar in the workplace.

According to her, she expects Gopi to be more like her, and you are right, Gopi is not like Kokila and would never be, Kokila is satisfied doing house chores and speaking to her husband rarely, except to taunt him once in a while, Gopi on the other hand wants to share her thoughts and worries with her husband...so many times she is worried about one thing or the other, and she felt good that she and Aham were now close enough that she could unburden herself and he in turn would tell her not to worry as he would deal with it, thinking his got Jigar to handle the work at the office whilst he deals with Gopi's worries, so perhaps Gopi is too needy perhaps? As nothing was stopping her from speaking to Aham today, speak to him nicely like before but just don't unburden her problems on him and expect him to handle things for her.

After all Kokila is around for her to approach with any problems and it will work similarly to Aham just with Kokila what Gopi wants will not happen, it's what Kokila thinks is right will happen, in most cases Kokila will tell her to stop worrying as Rashi can handle herself, or put her hand out in front of her face to silence her.
