Why is maryada never featured on sbs? - Page 2

It's the channels and the PHs, but mostly the channels, that are to blame. I said this on another forum.

What can we expect from a TV audience that gives highest TRPs to a serial like "Saathiya" ...a completely brainless and boring show abt 2 dumb, simpering bahus, an unnecessarily glaring saas and a wax statue husband! 😆 The most exciting thing that happens in that serial is someone overcooking the dhokla or thepla! 😆

Indian TV viewers cannot tolerate the reality, the dare and bare story of Maryada! Just imagine the shock to their prudish sentiments...

Wife asking dirty rotten husband for divorce after tolerating his abuses and affairs for 30 years! How dare she? Hes her Pati Parmeshwar and she should live in peace with her sister/ rival/ sautan in the same house and accept her patidev's dirty affairs! She shd cry and look tragic but accept all this like a patient cow!

Heroine molested in train by police officer in the beginning, gets married to the son of the molester...horror of horrors! Instead of worshipping her FIL, shes threatening to expose his dirty deed at every chance!

Handsome, hunky elder son turns out to be gay, now they show most members of both families accepting their gay relationship and the nice beautiful wife who cant "cure" the son of his gayness, instead shes carrying tiffin carrier for husband and his male lover (even I found that rather disturbing)😆

Viewers just cannot digest so many shocks to their nervous system.

Instead they shd have shown Devyani b****ing with her 2 bahus, the 2 bahus b****ing with each other, the maid b****ing abt all the ladies of the house...but .what is all this? Women supporting and empathizing with other women!!! That is so unacceptable to regular viewers!

In fact the Gaurav-Vidya track is so realistic because it happens in so many Indian households...parents forcibly marry off their gay son hoping to make him "normal"...wife discovers husband is gay and gets a divorce...this happened to my best friend as well. Fortunately she remarried and is happy now with hubby and kids!

But as I said, Indian viewers dont want reality, they want fluff and froth...not substance!

I couldn't agree with you more! Indian audiences are ridiculously close minded! How are we supposed to develop as a community if we keep these ideals? I don't want to get too political here but I think it's quite sad and pathetic that people are still like this. The hardships of families involve accepting and trusting each other, these days all people care about is what society thinks and what society think can be wrong, especially our close minded society. Maryada nailed that and I loved it for that!

Channel use 2 give promos 4 all serials except Maryada...If they have shown intresting promos show wud have gained more viewers

wats their 'NAYI SOCH'?? I cant c any nayi soch in star plus...always repeating the same saas-bahu, love-marriage track...Only serial with nayi soch and different trak is 'maryada' and they r going 2 end it...😕
